With the Five Saints Festival approaching, Old Dao arranged for the grounds to be leveled well in advance, preparing the three sacrificial offerings: the heads of an ox, a sheep, and a pig.
The five offerings were brought by the various mountain villages, with their potency determining their rank. These five consisted of a centipede, a Dushe, a scorpion, and a toad. Traditionally, these offerings were presented to the heavens during the Five Saints Festival, serving as prayers to the gods to show that the mortals of the lower realms remained faithful and that the "Five Venoms" were being well-tended.
After the festival, the sect would even feed the Five Venoms rare poisons from their private collection to further enhance their toxicity. Once their potency reached its peak, challengers could propose a contest between the creatures. The winner would take all, and the loser would be left with nothing.
