He knew that thousand-year-old spirit herbs were far too precious; they were simply impossible to find outside of the cultivation sects. Yet, he had already sold six such herbs to Li Feiyu. He hadn’t been aware of this fact when he first entered the sect, but a year or two later, he had gradually grasped the situation. By the time the Blood Forbidden trial arrived, participants were expected to cram their knowledge of spirit herbs, making the reality even more apparent. At least, that was how Han Li saw it. From Li Feiyu’s perspective, this was a tricky situation. Playing dumb wouldn't work; if he still acted as though he didn't suspect Han Li of hiding secrets, Han Li would start to suspect that Li Feiyu was secretly investigating him. Exposing him directly was out of the question, either—Han Li was a wily old fox who never left a single opening. Trying to maintain a brotherly bond with such a creature was incredibly difficult.
