Yu Wangyou rested a baseball bat on her shoulder, still chewing on a lollipop that Su Ruowan had forced into her mouth.
"Are you fucking insane?"
"That's right, I am insane. I have a severe mental illness, so it’s not against the law for me to beat someone to death." With that, she gave the bat a playful swing.
Yu Qianpan was instantly cowed, yet he still hadn't abandoned his predatory intentions toward Gu Xiaowei.
"Little sister, come over to my side. I’ll teach you how to handle a scumbag," Yu Wangyou called out to Gu Xiaowei.
Once Gu Xiaowei stood beside her, Yu Wangyou cracked her neck slightly, warming up.
"Now for the main event." Yu Wangyou dragged the bat along the ground. The sparks flying from the friction made Gu Xiaowei break into a cold sweat for Yu Qianpan.
Seeing the situation, Yu Qianpan tried to call for help.
"Go ahead and scream. Even if you scream until your throat tears, no one is coming to save you. You touch someone who belongs to me, and you’ll pay for it." Yu Wangyou’s phoenix eyes narrowed, radiating a subtle, dangerous aura.
She swung the bat, every strike landing on a pressure point; to any outsider, however, it merely looked like he had suffered minor injuries.
Watching the scene, Gu Xiaowei gulped. Fortunately, the Gu Family had raised her well, and she kept herself from making any sarcastic remarks—otherwise, her fate would likely have been even worse than Yu Qianpan's.
Amidst Yu Qianpan’s wails, the police arrived. Upon seeing Yu Wangyou, they looked as if they’d run into the King of Hell himself, and one officer cursed his own bad luck.
"Miss Yu, come with us to the station."
"Are you people gluttons for punishment? Every time you drag me in, you have no way to hold me, and in the end, you still have to let me go."
"Oh, my ancestor, would it kill you not to cause trouble?"
Ever since she became the terror of the orphanage, she had been a frequent guest at the police station—so much so that she had become as close as a twin sister to the police chief’s daughter. Whenever the officers reached for their stun batons, they were immediately scolded.
"Sister-in-law."
It was Gu Xiaowei’s first time seeing so many police officers, and she felt a bit frightened.
Yu Wangyou gave her a reassuring look.
"Go home and have your eldest brother come to the station to bail me out. Take this for self-defense." Yu Wangyou pulled a bomb-shaped anti-pervert weapon out of her pocket.
Gu Xiaowei stared at the object, terrified. But when she looked up, she saw Yu Wangyou being led away by the police.
Yu Qianpan was sent to the hospital, but after multiple examinations, the doctors found only minor injuries.
"That's impossible! She nearly beat me to death! Officer, you have to stand up for me!" Yu Qianpan was ready to cling to the officer’s leg.
The officer who had escorted him was not much older than him, but he felt his composure shatter at being called "Officer Uncle."
"Sit tight! Take a piece of advice from a brother: don't provoke that King of Hell. I'm begging you."
Back at the station, Yu Wangyou was brought in. In the past, she would have called the chief’s daughter for help, but today, she strangely found herself hoping that Gu Wangci would come to get her.
"Bring me a cup of instant noodles," she ordered, acting as if she were in her own home.
The police captain reached out to protect his last cup of noodles, only for Yu Wangyou to spot it.
"Hand it over." She saw right through him and snatched the noodles directly from his drawer.
After pouring hot water and waiting three minutes, just as she was about to eat, Gu Wangci arrived.
Gu Wangci’s face was as dark as ink. He hadn't expected that a woman he’d only met once would cause him such a massive headache.
She had actually gotten herself sent to the police station?
When he hurried into the station, winded and dusty, he found her sitting there, unbothered, eating instant noodles.
*Huh?*
*Eating instant noodles?!*
She wasn't the least bit flustered!
Gu Xiaowei was also stunned, staring at Yu Wangyou’s actions, unsure how to react.
"Big Brother, Sister-in-law only did it to save me..."
"I know."
Gu Wangci strode into the station, his long legs covering the distance quickly, and grabbed Yu Wangyou by the back of her neck just as she was about to take a bite.
"Who? Who is it?"
"Your husband."
Hearing this, Yu Wangyou immediately set down the noodles, turned around to wrap her arms around his waist, and whimpered, "That nasty man was bullying my sister, and I couldn't just stand by and watch."
Gu Wangci froze in place.
Gu Xiaowei was stunned by her sister-in-law's Jekyll-and-Hyde performance!
The group of police officers went numb. *If we didn't know about your past "accomplishments," we would have actually believed you!*
Wait, what did that man just say?
That he was this King of Hell’s husband?
When did she secretly get married behind their backs?
Gu Wangci wrestled with himself for a long moment before patting her back in consolation. "It’s alright now. I’m here."
After negotiating with the police, Gu Wangci led Yu Wangyou away, though she kept her arms locked around his waist, making it impossible for him to move.
"Let go!"
"No!"
"I said let go!"
"No way!"
Seeing that she refused to listen to reason, Gu Wangci scooped her up in a bridal carry. Yu Wangyou gasped, instantly wrapping her arms around his neck for fear of falling.
She feigned indignation. "Hate you~ If you wanted to carry me, you could have just said so."
Gu Wangci: "..."
He wanted nothing more than to land two punches on her to settle the score for the two she’d given him that morning.
As if she could read his mind, Yu Wangyou immediately let go of his waist and turned to talk to Gu Xiaowei.
Gu Xiaowei was pleasantly surprised. After stealing a glance at her brother, she began to chat with her sister-in-law.
"His family will definitely come to cause trouble tomorrow, Sister-in-law..."
"It’s fine. I don't go looking for trouble, but I’m not afraid of it either. Soldiers come, block with a general; water comes, cover with earth. Don't worry about it." She didn't dare mention her past exploits, fearing she would scare the girl.
The car finally arrived at their destination. Gu Xiaowei got out first, followed by Yu Wangyou and Gu Wangci.
"Thank you for today," she said, and began to walk away, only for her hand to be grabbed again.
"Together."
Yu Wangyou looked at their joined hands, feeling as if something inside her was cracking open.
That evening, the family estate was buzzing with activity. With the exception of Gu Jiangyu, who needed to prepare lessons, and Gu Xiaowei, who had schoolwork, the others gathered around Yu Wangyou, listening to her recount her "glorious history."
She talked for three or four hours, growing more animated as she spoke, eventually even resting a foot on the coffee table like a local hoodlum.
That day, Gu Wangci regretted his decision from that morning countless times.
*Why did I ever bring this woman home? She’s nothing but a headache!*
With a dark expression, he stepped forward and dragged the enthralled Yu Wangyou away, leaving Elder Gu and the Gu Jiangnan couple feeling that they hadn't heard nearly enough.
"Though this girl looks sharp-tongued, she’s actually a pitiful child. Growing up alone in an orphanage all those years, sigh..."
"Then we shall give her even more love, so she feels she is truly cherished."
"Yes, that’s a good idea. Now... let’s go to bed. We’ll deal with tomorrow’s matters tomorrow."
Gu Wangci took her straight to the room next to his and stuffed her inside.
The moment he slammed the door, a scream echoed out. Gu Wangci was immediately ordered to face the wall in reflection.
Yu Wangyou cradled her hand, which had been pinched a bright red by the door, tears pooling in her eyes.
She had never felt so wronged.
She glared at Gu Wangci’s back as if she wanted to carve him to pieces.
"Only when you admit your mistake can you return to your room. You’ve really grown wings, haven't you? Daring to pinch your own wife’s hand! Oh, my poor dear, does it still hurt? Mom will blow on it for you."
Feeling the faint, cool breeze, Yu Wangyou felt her body warm up.
Gu Xiaowei returned to her room and took out the "bomb" Yu Wangyou had given her.
How to put it—every time she looked at it, she felt a wave of heart-palpitations.
She placed the "bomb" on her vanity and went to wash up.
Gu Wangci wasn't allowed back into the room until late at night. By then, Yu Wangyou was already asleep.
Driven by a sense of petty revenge, Gu Wangci shook her awake. Only when she opened her eyes halfway did he say, "Get up and go back to sleep properly."
Yu Wangyou: "...Are you fucking insane?"
