It was Wednesday. Theoretically, today should have been the first day students finally escaped from their sea of suffering to enjoy a long-awaited holiday, sleeping in to their heart's content. The teachers would be holed up in school burying themselves in grading, leaving the campus entirely deserted save for the faculty offices.
