Actually, Uihi had considered many different guitarists—the list of candidates was far longer than Mutsumi might have imagined. On the far end, there was Toyama Kasumi, a senior from her own school with whom she wasn't particularly close, yet who was surprisingly easy to talk to; on the near end, there was Tomoka, who lived right upstairs.
However, considering that these people either had their own bands and couldn't commit to long-term support—while Mutsumi's hand would take time to heal regardless—or they came with all sorts of bizarre conditions... Take Tomoka's condition, for instance:
"If I help out, Nina has to help out too. As for memorizing lines, there's no guarantee I'll remember them, and I can't promise I won't get carried away, step on a speaker, start rocking out, and throw up my pinkies everywhere."
