When Pei Cheng returned to the hospital room, the brothers of the Xu Family had already arrived. Inside, the air seemed to have congealed, with only the faint, rhythmic beeping of medical equipment echoing in the silence. Xu Huan lay still on the hospital bed, her face as pale as parchment, her breathing so shallow it was barely perceptible. I shouldn't have favored Xu Yan, and I shouldn't have believed her few words and dismissed you as jealous and uncharitable. All the faults are mine. I beg you, wake up, will you? Don't just lie here; it breaks my heart."
