At six o'clock in the morning, Lin Zimo and his older cousin Lín Zǐjiàn woke up and drove into town to put up Spring Festival couplets on their houses there.
Both Lín Zǐqiáng and Lín Zǐjiàn owned homes in the county seat, but because Lín Zǐjiàn rarely stayed at home, his house sat vacant and wasn't liveable upon return, so his family stayed at Lin Zimo's place instead.
