When Lixi arrived at the Polymer Materials department, the classroom was filled entirely with male students. Seeing her enter, they were shocked, yet clearly intrigued, as few women ever chose this major. Moreover, this class was even smaller than the Material Science one; with Lixi, there were barely a dozen students in total.
Because of Lixi's stellar performance in Material Science, and because Professor Wang had specifically gone back to his office to brag about her, the professor for Polymer Materials and Engineering—Lin Wentao—already knew who she was. Like Professor Wang, he threw a few questions her way, and Lixi answered every one of them correctly.
However, to Lixi, Professor Lin’s lecture was even more difficult than she had anticipated. While Polymer Materials and Engineering overlapped with Material Science, it leaned more heavily toward polymer synthesis and performance regulation, involving vast amounts of organic chemistry and rheology. Despite it being the first class, Professor Lin lectured at an incredible speed. Lixi spent almost the entire time scribbling notes, let alone the others; several students were already struggling to keep up.
