The next day, Chi Le and Chi Yue were up bright and early. After having breakfast with Lixi, they got into a car and headed to the Imperial Court kindergarten in the city. The vehicle was an SUV that the Chi family had assigned to her.
Along the way, the children were bubbling with excitement, looking forward to making friends, meeting their teacher, and finding out what they would learn each day. Lixi watched them with doting eyes. She had never taken Shen Rui and Shen Han to kindergarten; it wasn’t that she didn’t want to, but that they had never wanted her to.
A while later, the car pulled into the parking lot. Lixi noticed two parking spaces marked with the names of Chi Le and Chi Yue. Curiously, she asked, "Why are there two spots?"
