"How could that be? Just give me a little time and I'll let you out. Bear with it for just a bit longer," Jiang Xia hurriedly comforted Xingxing.
The meal Jiang Xia had been dreaming of was finally ready.
Sweet and sour pork strips, sweet and sour pork ribs, braised pork chunks, dry-fried green beans, stir-fried broccoli with carrots, and a home-style cold mixed salad.
The spread was truly wonderful.
At the dining table, Jiang Xia dug in heartily, feeling immensely satisfied.
She hadn't forgotten about Xingxing the foodie. While cooking, she had asked her mom to make a bit extra, set a portion aside separately, and told her it would come in handy later.
Taking advantage of the fact that no one was paying attention, Jiang Xia secretly slipped it to Xingxing.
"Wow, Host, the food your mom makes is so delicious!" Xingxing exclaimed after taking its very first bite.
"Of course, it tastes like home," Jiang Xia replied to Xingxing, looking extremely proud.
After finishing the meal and cleaning up, Jiang Xia had her parents sit down properly on the sofa, her expression turning very serious.
She was about to explain the reason for her return.
"Don't be too surprised, okay? Everything I'm going to say is true." She laid the groundwork in advance, afraid the two of them might be startled.
"Actually, I had a miraculous encounter three months ago."
"I won't go into what it was."
"Weren't you curious about what the water was that I brought back for you?"
"That was spirit liquid drunk by cultivators. It can improve your physique and purge impurities. Your physical conditions must have improved a lot by now. Look at me—don't you think I look even prettier? I just didn't dare bring you too much for fear it would be too obvious."
"Also, because of that encounter, I can now practice Cultivation myself."
"You don't need to be too shocked by anything you see next."
Jiang Xia released Xingxing from her Storage Space.
As soon as Xingxing appeared, both of their eyes went wide and their mouths dropped slightly open.
It had appeared out of nowhere in an instant.
Once out, Xingxing stayed right where it was, unmoving, quietly looking at the two of them with an exceptionally well-behaved demeanor.
It was waiting for Jiang Xia to make introductions.
"This is Xingxing. It's a cat that can talk, part of my miraculous encounter, and also my Cultivation partner," Jiang Xia introduced it to her mom and dad.
"I also have a Storage Space, one hundred square meters in size, so I don't need to lug around any luggage when I go out."
"These are all vegetables I grew by watering them with diluted spirit liquid, and I brought them back for you."
With that, Jiang Xia took out all the vegetables she had brought from her Storage Space. These had been meant specifically for them, though she hadn't expected the two of them to be planning a trip.
"These are peaches, also grown by me. They're especially delicious."
"This is a storefront and a house I bought in Q Province, for you both."
Jiang Xia produced the property deeds and placed them in front of the two of them.
"The environment in Q Province is wonderful. It's not cold in the winter, and summer has already passed."
"Besides, I'm also in Q Province. It'll be much more convenient for me to come home."
Knowing that all of this would take some time to digest, Jiang Xia walked over to the side of the sofa and sat down, quietly waiting for her parents to process the information and come back to their senses.
Both of them had consumed the spirit liquid, so there was no need to worry about the information overload causing them to faint.
Time ticked by second by second for quite a while before Jiang Xia's parents finally digested it all.
"Daughter, is everything you said true?" Jiang Chongshan spoke up first.
"Of course. Take a look." They had finally processed it; she was so excited.
With that, Jiang Xia summoned her sword and began to fly around the room right in front of her parents.
Fortunately, their living room was quite large—just enough space for her to take flight.
Now, they had no choice but to believe it.
"The house you mentioned—where did you get the money for it?"
"I earned it by selling medicinal herbs. I dug them up in the mountains. Ginseng and ganoderma that have aged a bit are worth a fortune nowadays."
"Oh, oh, oh. Which mountain did you go to? Was it dangerous?"
"Don't worry, not dangerous at all. It's just that you can't go there right now. Once I practice Cultivation a bit more, you'll be able to go."
She really wanted to take her parents with her to Immortals' Valley—what a wonderful place it was.
Yet for now, there was still a barrier outside the valley, and no houses inside yet. There was nowhere to live, transportation was inconvenient, and with no one else around, it would be very lonely.
"Right, aren't you guys planning to go on a trip? Perfect, you can go traveling for a few months first. The house is currently being renovated anyway, so you couldn't move in yet. By the time you finish your trip, it'll be just right."
Jiang Xia thought her parents' idea was great; they could take this opportunity to go out and have some fun.
"Didn't you want to open a shop before? It's just about to start renovations now, so if you have any opinions, tell them right away."
Since her parents were the ones opening the shop, the decor style naturally had to be to their liking.
"Ah, well."
"Oh right, I'll transfer the money to you. Don't feel bad about spending it while you're out having fun—just enjoy yourselves however you like."
After buying the house and paying the renovation fees, she still had ten million left over, and Jiang Xia transferred the entire amount to her parents.
Once she had time, she would go sell some oracle texts; money like this didn't last long.
She had only kept a little bit for herself to buy grain. Vegetables were already growing in her garden, but she lacked meat, and cooking meat herself felt troublesome.
On top of that, she had no grain left, so Jiang Xia planned to buy some more grain and then focus wholeheartedly on Cultivation.
Jiang Chongshan looked at the string of zeros on the text message notification and asked in surprise,
"One, two, three... Ten million? That's so much, daughter, aren't you keeping any for yourself?"
"What? Ten million?" Li Jing was equally startled; she had never laid eyes on so much money before.
"It's not much. This is just what's left over. Whenever I need money in the future, I can just go sell some more medicinal herbs. I have a pretty good relationship with the old gentleman who buys them, and his prices are very fair."
Jiang Xia said this with the utmost confidence, because during her second time selling herbs, that Old Jiang had been exceedingly happy.
She herself had thought this was an astronomical sum at first, but she no longer felt that way. After all, having been through an auction house, she knew there were truly plenty of wealthy people out there.
That was why she was so calm about it.
Once her parents got past the familiarization period, they would be fine.
Anyway, she had vast resources in her hands; they just hadn't been converted into cash yet. Once she wanted to cash them out, she would definitely make a fortune.
So she wasn't short on money.
"By the way, you said that little cat can talk?"
"Hello, Auntie. I'm Xingxing, Xiaoxiao's Cultivation partner," Xingxing put on an extremely well-behaved act. It was important to make a good first impression.
"Hello, hello," Mrs. Li Jing replied in a daze, unable to keep from marveling at the wonder of it all.
They still needed time to adapt.
Two days later, Jiang Xia's parents finally accepted the reality of the situation—especially Xingxing's existence, though they persisted in viewing Xingxing as a cultivating cat.
Who could blame them when Xingxing spent all day chatting with Jiang Xia's parents and buttering them up to make them happy? Jiang Xia's mom in particular started making all sorts of delicious food for Xingxing to eat.
Jiang Xia had never known Xingxing could speak so sweetly, rattling off one pleasant remark after another without ever repeating itself.
After that, they packed a suitcase and set off on their travels.
They would sell their current house once the new one was ready; after all, they might not necessarily come back here to live in the future.
And just like that, Jiang Xia hadn't even stayed home for more than a few days—after spending two nights there, she was on the move again.
This time, however, she wasn't making the journey alone; her mom, dad, and she were all traveling together.
They needed to go inspect the house and the storefront to figure out the renovation plans. Jiang Xia had already told the decoration company to hold off on starting for a couple of days.
They needed to see what kind of goods the shop would sell so they could match the interior design accordingly.
Jiang Xia accompanied her parents to inspect the storefront and the house in Q Province for a long time.
Her parents were thoroughly satisfied with the place their daughter had chosen, nodding repeatedly in approval.
Not only was the management good, the landscaping lush, the floor area generous, and the environment pleasant, but the surrounding support facilities were also completely comprehensive. It wasn't far from the city center, and transportation was extremely convenient.
"Once you get to the place where I live, you'll like it even more," Jiang Xia exuded immense confidence regarding her Immortals' Valley.
After all, if they were already this satisfied with a place like this, how could her Immortals' Valley possibly have a worse environment?
