Then she struck it rich!
Jiang Xia reached out and picked up the egg resting in front of her, staring at it closely, not missing a single detail.
She looked at the extremely smooth surface of the egg, which did not have the slightest scratch on it.
She was truly astonished; this egg was simply too miraculous.
Not only was it completely unharmed after falling to the ground, but it had even rolled right back to her in one piece.
It defied science.
However, this was no ordinary egg, so it was only natural that it wasn't normal; one couldn't explain this with conventional logic.
Yet one thing she did know: the egg in her hand was definitely not for eating.
After all, her teeth weren't that tough—she couldn't bite through it.
"You're so amazing, and I have no idea what you actually are, but you must be pretty powerful," Jiang Xia muttered to herself, facing the egg.
"You can fly—you couldn't possibly be a Cultivation egg, could you? Go on, fly again for me to see."
As soon as she finished speaking, Jiang Xia chuckled self-deprecatingly: "How silly of me. It would be a miracle if you could understand what I'm saying; you're probably still just an embryo, I..."
Before Jiang Xia could even finish, that nameless egg actually flew up, circled around Jiang Xia, and came to a stop right in front of her again.
Jiang Xia was overjoyed. To think this egg could actually understand human speech—it was simply too incredible!
Based on her extensive experience from reading novels, this nameless egg must possess immense abilities or have a deeply formidable background.
"Wow, you are so amazing! When are you going to hatch, and what species are you?" Jiang Xia asked in astonishment, still brimming with curiosity.
Not knowing how to express itself, the nameless egg simply tilted its head.
Jiang Xia understood; she got it.
"Since you're like this right now, I have no idea what to call you, and I can't just keep calling you 'Eggie'. I see your shell is entirely golden, so I'll call you Jinjin! What a nice and memorable name, isn't that right, Jinjin?" Jiang Xia felt that the name Jinjin was exceptionally lovely.
The egg in front of her shook its head, trying to refuse.
"You don't like it? Well, how about you pick a new name for yourself once you hatch? Hmm~~~ Jinjin it is for now, what a great name, and it suits you so well right now."
Seeing how insistent Jiang Xia was, the egg found it impossible to argue. Since it couldn't speak yet, it could only nod in resignation and agree.
Jiang Xia beamed happily—hehehe, she was doing great.
However, she still had work to attend to; she could explore all of this later.
Jiang Xia went back to writing her novel.
On the third day, Jiang Xia received a delivery: the land contract for Immortals' Valley and its surrounding areas, which was now officially registered in her name.
Jiang Xia leaped high into the air in an instant.
Wow, she was a landowner now too!
Just saying it out loud felt so prestigious—such a massive piece of land, and all of it belonged to her.
A week passed in the blink of an eye.
Her novel was finally completed.
And Jiang Xia was about to head to the Immortals' Valley she had been yearning for.
Throughout these seven days, Jiang Xia had checked in punctually every single day.
The daily check-in reward was always spirit liquid. This was a wonderful treasure, though one shouldn't drink too much of it; she had been sipping a little every day and had already finished one bottle, while the rest remained stored in the System Space.
Furthermore, she noticed that her body felt noticeably lighter and much healthier. Her skin had even become fairer, more delicate and smooth, and her facial features had grown slightly more refined.
If she hadn't been afraid of the changes being too obvious, Jiang Xia would definitely have chugged a whole bottle right then and there—who doesn't love being beautiful?
According to the system's scan, her body was currently in a healthy state, and she no longer needed to worry about catching colds.
After all, there had been a period when Jiang Xia always seemed to catch every single cold going around. Once, when she managed to miss a widespread flu, she had been ecstatic, only to catch the very tail end of it anyway—she truly never missed out.
During this week, aside from writing a heartwarming, happy ending for her novel, Jiang Xia had also ordered a mountain of food, snacks, and daily necessities online.
After all, she now had two gluttons on her hands, and Xingxing could eat even more than she could.
Moreover, Immortals' Valley was located deep in the remote mountains and primeval forests. For a time, it might just be the two of them—one human and one cat—so how could she manage without a decent stash of food?
Fortunately, she now had the System Space, which could hold a vast amount of items. Although the space wasn't huge, it was still a hundred square meters.
Xingxing had assured her that it would upgrade later, and right now, it was more than enough to hold all of Jiang Xia's belongings.
Jiang Xia packed all her possessions from her rented apartment into the System Space, then went to collect her deposit from the landlord.
After that, Jiang Xia headed to the local courier station.
She mailed two bottles of spirit liquid to her parents, telling them to drink a little every day, but not too fast, to keep them in the fridge so they wouldn't spoil, and not to let outsiders know.
Once these matters were settled, Jiang Xia set off on the road to Immortals' Valley.
Xingxing the system had warned her that transport to Immortals' Valley was inconvenient, as it was nestled deep within remote mountain forests.
Up to now, no one had ever reached the place; it was entirely untouched territory.
It wasn't until Jiang Xia was almost there that she finally understood why this area remained entirely untouched.
Jiang Xia wore a simple tracksuit, traveling light and ready for the journey.
The next day, Jiang Xia got out of the vehicle and, following Xingxing's guidance, walked toward a stretch of dense forest.
She looked at the forest ahead with yearning, charging into it eagerly.
She was about to reach Immortals' Valley—how could she not be excited?
Anyone in her shoes would be thrilled.
That was Immortals' Valley, the location of a celestial drama production! How gorgeous it must be!
Jiang Xia knew the valley was deep in the mountains and forests, but after walking for an entire morning based on the system's prompts, the scenery before her eyes was still just green forest, completely unchanged.
For someone who had never ventured into the mountains before, it honestly felt like a very long time indeed.
Jiang Xia found a large boulder to sit on, took a sip of water, and rested. Having walked all morning, her stomach was rumbling.
Yet what puzzled her was that today, Xingxing hadn't urged her about food even once.
Still, Jiang Xia simply figured Xingxing must be tired as well.
"Xingxing, how much longer before we arrive? We've been walking all morning, where on earth is this place?" Jiang Xia asked.
"Don't worry, Host, we'll be there soon. Meow~"
During the time they had spent together, Xingxing knew it couldn't tell the Host the exact distance directly.
Otherwise, the Host might just turn right around and leave, planning to come back only after learning how to fly, which would take a very long time indeed.
Thinking about the two-day trek still ahead, Xingxing lowered its head, feeling rather guilty. It didn't dare imagine whether the Host might beat it up.
After all, it had lied to the Host.
Yet the spiritual energy inside Immortals' Valley was simply too abundant! With no human presence and no disturbances for ages, it was an ideal place for cultivation, not to mention that the good treasures there were plentiful.
Thinking about it, Jiang Xia decided it made sense—after all, it was deep in the mountains and forests; how could anyone reach it after just a single morning of walking?
As long as they arrived before the end of the day, that was fine. She had no desire to spend the night out here; goodness knows what might be lurking about once it got dark.
"Fine then, let's eat our fill before we move on," Jiang Xia said.
"Jinjin, I wonder when you'll finally hatch? You're missing out on such delicious food." Jiang Xia said regretfully as she held a meat-stuffed flatbread in her hand and glanced at Jinjin.
Right now, both human and cat were eating, leaving only Jinjin watching from the side. How pitiful—unable to eat a single bite of such fine cuisine.
After eating and drinking her fill, Jiang Xia resumed her journey.
If you asked her whether she was tired, she would tell you she certainly was not.
After all, she hadn't spent more than a week drinking spirit liquid for nothing; her physical stamina had improved immensely.
Even if she did feel tired, a short rest and a gulp of spirit liquid would set her right, instantly restoring her energy and leaving her feeling completely refreshed.
