The tearing sensation of the quantum channel was far more intense than any previous leap. Jian felt every molecule of her body being dismantled and reassembled; the W-shaped mark on her right eye burned with agonizing heat. When the reconstruction finished, she collapsed into a pitch-black void, the only light coming from the faint blue glow of the eight Memory Chips on her chest.
"Sample Zero? The Youth?" Her calls were swallowed by the darkness; there was no reply.
The ground beneath her fingers felt cold and smooth, like metal. As the chips’ light intensified, Jian finally saw her surroundings—a massive spherical space. Its inner walls were composed of countless mirrors, each reflecting fragments of different worlds. More disturbingly, the "Jians" in every mirror were performing actions different from her own: some were calling for help, others were fighting, and some were... climbing out from the mirror surface.
