“There’s another choice?”
Lù Chángzhī was slightly surprised.
“Using the system is simple enough, but the experience points are a bit low.”
Skipping the first option, Lù Chángzhī examined the other two.
An External Incarnation, even a Spirit Rank High Grade Cultivation Method, was quite valuable. Cultivation Methods of Spirit Rank High Grade within the Five Elements Sect were probably few and far between.
But its corresponding...
“Forget it.”
Leaving directly would mean more than just a small loss.
The reward for the disciple recruitment mission, the increase in realm and strength brought by a new disciple, and a possible cracked version of the Idle Cultivation System.
“Then all that’s left is to persuade him in person.”
Lù Chángzhī looked at the so-called reward.
[External Incarnation]: Can mimic an avatar identical to the user, possessing no independent consciousness, can only perform designated tasks, and can use most system functions...
...“Reliable.”
Lù Chángzhī’s eyes lit up. It was truly a gift from heaven when one was dozing off. He had been out for so long, visiting so many places, and was indeed a bit tired of it. With this External Incarnation, next time a mission was issued, he wouldn’t have to run around so hard himself. Even if he had to go, his efficiency would greatly improve. No more hesitation.
He asked the system for Mù Fán’s location. Sure enough, it was at the Mù Manor ahead.
“Chángzhī, are you planning to visit the Mù Manor?”
Xú Kūn glanced at Lù Chángzhī and asked.
“Is Peak Master Xu very familiar with the Mù Manor?”
“Not exactly familiar, but I’ve been there a few times.”
“Then I shall trouble Peak Master Xu,” Lù Chángzhī said with a smile.
Not long after, a middle-aged man with a square face, the master of Mù Manor, Mù Jùn, hurried over.
“Peak Master Xu, why have you come? Please, come in, please.”
As everyone entered the hall, Mù Jùn quickly instructed his people to get busy.
“Peak Master Xu, may I ask what brings you here from afar? Is there anything our Mu Family can do to help?”
“It’s not for me.” Xú Kūn smiled, his gaze shifting to Lù Chángzhī: “This visit is at the behest of Peak Master Lu.”
“Peak Master Lu?” Mù Jùn quickly looked over, his expression startled, and he said with haste: “You are the one who accepted the genius Gù Chén this time, causing the Five Elements Sect to specially establish a new Hidden Origin Peak, Peak Master Lu?”
“I’ve heard so much, I never imagined you would grace us with your presence, truly bringing glory to my Mu Family……”
When it came to flattery, mortal powers were indeed something else. Jīn Fùguì, standing to the side, felt his mind buzzing. These two people, always eating and drinking and gallivanting around, were actually Peak Masters of the Five Elements Sect! And the one who accepted him was the Peak Master Lu, who had been the talk of the town. Shocked, astounded, unbelievable...
...
“Master Mu, you are too kind,” Lù Chángzhī said with a smile. “I came this time primarily to recruit a disciple from the Mu Family. Do you have any recommended candidates, Master Mu?”
“Recruit a disciple?!” Mù Jùn’s expression jolted as if he had heard something unbelievable. He tentatively asked: “Are you intending to have them join Hidden Origin Peak and become your disciple?”
“Precisely,” Lù Chángzhī nodded.
Mù Jùn took a deep breath. “Would Peak Master Lu be willing to wait for some time? Some of the younger generation in the manor are still out, and it will take some time to gather them.”
“Alright.”
Since they were already nearby, there was no great rush.
Mù Jùn immediately got up to spread the news and summon the younger generation of the Mu Family. The entire Mu Family was immediately in an uproar.
“Heavens, I never thought the Peak Master of the legendary Hidden Origin Peak would personally come to our Mu Family to recruit disciples!”
“What a pity; if only I were a bit younger, this could have been my chance!”
“I heard it’s to join Hidden Origin Peak. The Spirit Grade Inferior genius Gù Chén is there now. If someone gets accepted, they’ll be fellow disciples in the future, and have allies in fights.”
“With such a good opportunity, the Eldest Young Master and the Second Young Master have a great chance. As for us, we probably don’t have much hope.”
...
The entire Mu Family was in a frenzy. Ever since Gù Chén joined Hidden Origin Peak back then, the rumors about Hidden Origin Peak had never stopped. They had even become more and more exaggerated with each retelling. There were rumors that anyone who entered Hidden Origin Peak would surely make a name for themselves in the world. Hidden Origin Peak was spoken of with increasing mystique.
And now, Hidden Origin Peak had personally come to recruit disciples...
“Chángzhī, why did you suddenly decide to recruit disciples here at the Mu Family?”
After the outsiders had left, Xú Kūn inquired of Lù Chángzhī.
Lù Chángzhī smiled slightly. “When I was about to visit the Mu Manor, did Peak Master Xu guess this possibility?”
Xú Kūn nodded.
“That’s right,” Lù Chángzhī chuckled. “A man’s intuition. I felt there would be something to gain from the Mu Family, so I came.”
Xú Kūn couldn’t help but shake his head. This kid was putting on a act again. However, he was also somewhat curious. What kind of person would Lù Chángzhī intend to take back this time? Luo Ling’er and Jīn Fùguì before them had both defied expectations.
Mù Jùn did not immediately have his family disciples come forward. Instead, he prepared a sumptuous banquet. The feast was set on a grand scale. Xú Kūn, Lù Chángzhī, and the others sat in the place of honor. The rest were important figures from the Mù Manor. The younger generation of the Mù Manor followed, each seated according to their status, in an orderly fashion.
Lù Chángzhī, however, noticed that among the seats reserved for the leading members of the younger generation of the Mù Manor, one seat was left empty.
“Peak Master Lu.”
Mù Jùn raised his wine cup, and after toasting, he said, “Most of the younger generation in the Mù Manor have arrived. Shall I introduce them to you?”
“Wait a moment,” Lù Chángzhī raised his hand slightly. “Why is there still an empty seat there?”
Mù Jùn looked over, then smiled helplessly. “That is the seat for my third son, Mù Fán. Perhaps he knows his Aptitude is poor, so he…?”
“Interesting,” a hint of amusement touched Lù Chángzhī’s lips. He hadn’t expected Mù Fán to choose not to come. But these words struck Mù Jùn like a thunderclap, making his body stiffen and a cold sweat break out.
“Peak Master Lu, please don’t be angry. I’ll send someone to find him right away,” Mù Jùn said hastily. It was only then that he suddenly remembered. This wasn’t a matter of opportunity or not. It was a matter of face. The dignified Peak Master of Hidden Origin Peak had come to his Mu Family to recruit disciples, and even if there was no chance, everyone should have come. Although his third son had extremely poor Aptitude and talent, simply not suited for cultivation, that was not important. What was important was not offending Peak Master Lu!
“Steward, quickly go find Fán’er!” Mù Jùn urged.
However, the steward also looked troubled: “Master, when I told the Third Young Master about this earlier, he told me to tell the Eldest Young Master and the Second Young Master to perform well, and as for him, he wouldn’t come to embarrass himself.”
“After saying that, he left.”
