"Mr. Zhongli's social connections are really something else!"
Fengluo thought to himself.
As expected of the knowledgeable Mr. Zhongli.
His network of acquaintances was simply too vast, ranging from eccentric young girls like Hu Tao to elderly village chiefs like Granny Ruoxin.
He truly seemed to know everyone everywhere!
Moreover,
on one very accidental occasion,
Fengluo had once seen Zhongli chatting with a cyan-and-white giant bird on a certain hillside.
That had given him quite a start at the time, leading him to think Mr. Zhongli possessed such a broad range of knowledge that he even understood bird language.
When he listened closely later on,
however, he realized that the cyan-and-white giant bird was actually speaking human words.
Having lived in Liyue Harbor for some time, Fengluo knew of the existence of the Adepti in Jueyun Karst.
Most of the Adepti were not in human form, preferring to present themselves in the shapes of birds, beasts, and the like.
Not daring to listen any further, Fengluo had hurried away.
At the same time, his respect for Mr. Zhongli had grown even deeper.
He actually even knew Adepti!
As expected of a Vision bearer...
It was truly something to envy.
Fengluo attributed all these magical phenomena
entirely to the fact that Mr. Zhongli possessed a legendary Vision.
And a Geo one at that.
It was said that Rex Lapis, who ruled Liyue Harbor, was a deity of the Geo element!
Since he didn't have a Vision himself, it was only natural that he didn't understand the mysteries behind it.
Thinking of Visions,
Fengluo couldn't help letting out another sigh.
"Sigh—"
Clearly, as a transmigrator, he didn't have any perks at all.
Never mind having no system, no chat group, and no golden finger.
He didn't even have a Vision!
Wasn't this supposed to be standard issue for transmigrators?
On very rare occasions, Fengluo would catch sight of Vision bearers using Elemental Energy in combat.
He would be so envious that his mouth would almost water...
It was just too cool!
However,
Fengluo was not the type to curse his fate and blame others.
He was already quite content
with everything he possessed.
Having been through the experience of almost starving to death,
Fengluo took a lot of things in this world in stride.
Besides, Hu Tao thought very highly of him
and had specially taught Fengluo the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Secret Spear Art—the very same spear art that had completely beaten him black and blue back then.
Though given Fengluo's own preference, he would have rather learned the sword.
Yet when Hu Tao narrowed her eyes and cast a dangerous look his way,
he still decisively caved.
"Sigh... Who knows where Director Hu ran off to? I didn't even get to properly say goodbye to her when I left the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor this time. She shouldn't be angry, right?"
As Fengluo was thinking this,
he suddenly felt a chill down his spine.
?!
He turned his head to look.
He saw nothing at all.
That made it even scarier!
This dangerous, ominous premonition...
Yet Fengluo quickly cast it to the back of his mind.
Nothing was more important than his plan to buy a house in Liyue Harbor!
"Let's find Granny Ruoxin first!"
After resting enough, Fengluo continued walking deeper into Qingce Village.
Following the bluestone-paved path and taking only a few steps,
he spotted an elderly woman with a wrinkled face, though her eyes remained bright.
She was sitting beneath a pavilion, her clear eyes gazing far into the distance.
Fengluo looked in the direction of the old woman's gaze, but saw only endless mountain ranges and a winding, ancient river in the distance.
This old woman certainly had a refined and leisurely taste, watching the mountains and rivers here every day.
Fengluo thought to himself, then walked up with a smile on his face.
"Hello there, ma'am. Do you happen to know Granny Ruoxin?"
He asked very politely.
"Oh?"
The old woman withdrew her gaze and slowly turned around. Her clear eyes looked Fengluo up and down for a moment,
and then a smile appeared on her face.
"I am Ruoxin. Polite young man, what brings you to our village?"
"Ah, hello Granny Ruoxin! My name is Fengluo. It's like this—I've purchased a plot of land here..."
Fengluo hurriedly greeted her while briefly explaining the purpose of his visit.
"Oh my, how rare. To think a young man would actually choose to come to our place."
Granny Ruoxin nodded repeatedly as she listened, her eyes filled with smiles as she spoke.
After all, having lived to such an advanced age, she naturally possessed a good eye for people.
From his appearance, this seemed like a fine young man. While he couldn't be called exceptionally handsome, he was very pleasing to the eye.
His fresh-featured face always carried a gentle smile, and those eyes of his were exceptionally bright, as if harboring infinite light within them.
Ah... and this outfit...
Looking at the adventurer's attire Fengluo wore, Granny Ruoxin's eyes revealed a hint of nostalgia.
Back then, that person too had worn this very same green adventurer's outfit and told her he was going on adventures far away.
Yet after setting sail, he never returned...
Now, a young man wearing the same outfit and carrying light in his eyes had come here once more.
Should she call it the marvelous workings of fate?
Granny Ruoxin wiped the corners of her eyes and looked at Fengluo with even greater warmth.
"Young man, do you have the deed? Let me see the land deed you bought."
"I do, I do. Please take a look, Granny Ruoxin."
Fengluo hurriedly produced his land deed.
"Mm... So it's this plot."
After examining it, Granny Ruoxin nodded.
"Come along with me."
She led Fengluo toward the edge of the cliff.
Most of the residences in Qingce Village were built upon a mountain cliff, down which rushed a cascading river.
It not only served as a source of household water but also powered the waterwheel alongside it.
Next to the waterwheel stood a giant mill. Most of the grain harvested in Qingce Village was sent to this stone mill to be ground into flour before being sold.
Looking down from the edge of the cliff, one could see vast expanses of terraced fields and an interlacing network of waterways below.
It was precisely because of this abundant water resource that the fertile soil was created, making Qingce Village an important agricultural production base.
Growing among the mountain cliffs were also quite a few rare medicinal herbs.
Such as Glass Lilies.
These were things Qiqi would usually venture out to pick. Because she was a zombie, she wouldn't run into any safety issues.
Even if she accidentally fell down, she would be completely fine, as if landing on a soft cushion.
"Fengluo, look..."
Holding the deed, Granny Ruoxin pointed out the charted location on it to Fengluo.
"That patch over there belongs to you. It originally belonged to an old man who has stopped farming it now. Um, there's still some wheat he planted previously growing on it, and it looks like it's already ripened..."
"Since he's already sold the land to you, you might as well just gather the harvest."
"Uh..."
Fengluo looked in that direction, opening and closing his mouth as if he wanted to say something.
"What is it, Fengluo? You look like you have something on your mind. It's fine, go ahead and say it. I am the village chief here after all—well, even if I don't have an official title, I can answer any questions you might have."
"Granny Ruoxin, those wild boars in the field... seem to be eating my wheat. Is that also a normal phenomenon?"
Fengluo pointed toward the distant field where a wild boar was leisurely pacing and occasionally lowering its head to nibble on the wheat sprouts, wearing an expression of utter distress.
