Chapter 13

Lu Yun knocked on the door of Ghost Mother's room.
This scene made everyone watching him outside feel nervous.
"No way, how dare he knock on Ghost Mother's door?" a viewer said.
"You don't know a damn thing, just watch how he handles it. You didn't even finish middle school, why are you asking so much?" His friend gave him a sarcastic retort.
That successfully shut his mouth.
"Son, Mother needs to rest for a while, don't bother Mother," came Ghost Mother's weak voice from inside the room.
It was that same viewer who hadn't finished middle school, and now he said, looking as if a sudden realization had dawned on him: "I get it, he wants to take advantage of Ghost Mother being weak to finish her off, it's definitely that!"
His friend speechlessy retorted again: "You act like you understand everything every single day. Since you're so smart, why don't you go take the Spirit Master College Entrance Exam?"
The viewer who hadn't finished middle school immediately shut up.
If he had the ability, would he still be hanging around here just to gawk?
"By the way, Lao Zheng, where is your daughter?" the viewer who loved to retort asked his friend who hadn't finished middle school.
"Oh, my daughter Zheng Hong should be in the corner, let me look for her." Zheng Ergou started searching for his daughter in the local livestream.
His daughter Zheng Hong had pretty good luck; she realized the hidden information within the hints.
On the afternoon of the first day when Hakimi was injured, before the creatures in the pigpen mutated, she brought out some medicine and successfully saved Hakimi.
However, she hadn't eaten on the first day, and by the second day she was a bit weak from hunger. She managed to eat a few bites of the food Ghost Mother made and found there was no problem with it.
Her teammate had finished exploring her "home," and her teammate's name was Long Yu, whose identity was the daughter of the Hui Cat family.
She discovered there were only three bowls of instant noodles at home, and planned to eat one meal a day.
She didn't know where Zheng Hong was, nor could she see through the fog, so she could only wander around her house in circles.
Yet her surroundings were much safer than Zheng Hong's place; the Pig-headed Man seemed to only be active near the bamboo grove and the Hui Cat family's pigpen.
Long Yu also bumped into that chicken staring at the basketball, and she kindly threw the basketball into the chicken coop. The chicken stepped on the basketball and ran off.
And of course there were fools in the Secret Realm.
Just like in the team of Li Dezhi and Wei Xiaoxiao.
Wei Xiaoxiao belonged to Tang Lun's family.
Li Dezhi belonged to the Hui Cat family, though with a change: in the group photo, Li Dezhi was the son of the Hui Cat family, while the original daughter seemed to have never existed in this world.
Looking at himself in the photo with a mother and father who had inexplicably appeared, Li Dezhi directly burned the group photo with a fire, little knowing that he had caused himself and his teammate to miss a crucial clue.
In fact, even if they had the password, it would have been useless.
Because Wei Xiaoxiao stayed at home on the first day and went nowhere, which led to the death of Hakimi at home.
That very night, the Pig-headed Man came and slashed several notches into his front door.
As for that scumbag Li Dezhi, when he saw the chicken in the chicken coop staring at the basketball, he spat at the basketball, kicked it away, and said, "You chicken, what the hell are you staring at the basketball for?"
Li Dezhi turned to leave, but a mass of shadows suddenly emerged behind him.
He turned his head stiffly, only to find that the chicken behind him had twisted into a monster covered in tentacles.
Several tentacles bound his limbs. Li Dezhi only had time to let out a single scream before a tentacle was shoved straight into his mouth.
Immediately after, countless animal and human limbs clawed bloody gashes across his body.
Accompanied by a bout of pulling and tearing, Li Dezhi was dragged into the shadow beneath the monster.
Fortunately, talismans were still usable and automatically triggered to pull him out.
By this time, however, Li Dezhi had lost consciousness, and the attending physician said: "He has suffered a massive shock, and his family had better prepare themselves, as he might become mentally disabled in the future."
Only then did the chief director realize what that chicken actually was.
Clearly, that was a Shadow Monster...
If Lu Yun had seen that thing, he probably would have been astonished, because the form that chicken turned into was undeniably an assassin under The Entity—the Shadow Fiend!
And Li Dezhi became the only person so far to be eliminated because of a chicken.
Meanwhile, his teammate Wei Xiaoxiao listened to Li Dezhi's miserable screams, wrapped herself tightly in the quilt while shivering continuously, knowing that her cousin was in grave danger.
She was now terrified that the monster that had attacked her cousin Li Dezhi would come after her.
Over in the Secret Realm of monitor Zheng Hong, it was already the second day.
Zheng Hong was currently exploring the pigpen at home, her progress only a day behind Lu Yun's.
As for her teammate Long Yu, she was still hesitating whether or not she should go explore the house directly opposite her own front door.
Long Yu gave herself a long pep talk before finally picking up the household flashlight—an item from her own room.
Yet in Lu Yun's Secret Realm, he hadn't found any such items in the Hui Cat family's house.
Mustering her courage, Long Yu walked toward "her own" pigpen. Passing the utility room, she saw two cabinets and figured there might be some supplies inside, so she pulled open a cabinet door.
Inside one of the cabinet was rotting cured meat, and rat droppings dotted the floor.
The bizarre visual shock made her retch slightly.
Refusing to believe her luck, she opened the second cabinet, only for the stench of pig manure drifting from inside to make her retch again.
If she knew that Lu Yun had dared to hide inside that very cabinet, she probably would have had to praise him a few times.
Without a doubt, apart from the rotting pork, there were only a few Jerrys left in the Hui Cat family's pigpen.
The black fog was rather thick, and Long Yu accidentally stepped into a rat hole, twisting her ankle amid a sharp wave of pain.
It hurt so much that she grimaced.
"Dammit, twisting my ankle at a time like this. Should I keep going... or go back?"
She hardly had much time to hesitate now.
On a whim, she chose to keep walking forward—what if... what if Zheng Hong was in that family ahead?
Sure enough, her impulsiveness successfully allowed her to reunite with her partner.
She walked past the edge of the bamboo grove, failing to notice the Pig-headed Man in the dark fog of the bamboo grove who had been watching her all along.
Suddenly, someone appeared from her right, and Long Yu hurriedly flashed her flashlight over.
Zheng Hong was temporarily blinded by the sudden beam of the flashlight.
"Who is it?" Zheng Hong asked loudly.
Hearing a familiar voice, Long Yu quickly said, "Sister Zheng Hong, it's me, Long Yu."
After recovering for a moment, Zheng Hong finally regained her vision.
The moment she saw Long Yu clearly, the two embraced tightly.
After trembling in fear all night, she had finally reunited with her good friend.
Looking at Long Yu limping, Zheng Hong asked, "What happened to you?"
"I just stepped into a rat hole and twisted my ankle."
"Then you're quite lucky. I remember there's medicinal liquor in the infirmary, but before that, you might have to go see Ghost Mother," Zheng Hong said with some concern.
