While infiltrating the Japanese Army airfield, Leitao encountered two search parties. The first group was quite large, fanning out in a search formation. Leitao quickly scrambled up a large tree, hiding himself within the dense canopy and barely daring to breathe. As the Japanese soldiers passed beneath him, he watched through the gaps in the leaves, ready to fight to the death should he be discovered. Fortunately, the Japanese didn't notice him and gradually moved on. No sooner had he let out a sigh of relief than a second search party approached from the flank. Leitao hurriedly pressed his body flat against the ground in a cluster of bushes, letting the thorns cut into his skin. The sound of Japanese footsteps grew closer, and his heart leaped into his throat. Just then, a wild rabbit bolted out from nearby, drawing the attention of the Japanese soldiers, and Leitao was spared once again. Ahead, two Japanese soldiers appeared, patrolling. Leitao froze, hiding behind a large tree. His breathing became incredibly shallow, yet his eyes remained as sharp as a hawk’s, locked onto every move the two soldiers made. Once they were at a suitable distance, Leitao struck decisively. He slightly adjusted the angle of his Semi-automatic Drum Repeating Crossbow and squeezed the trigger. Bolts whistled out like lightning; the two soldiers didn't even have time to cry out before they were struck in their vitals and fell to the ground dead.
