Leitao drew his dagger in silence. Crouching low, he crept toward the sentry step by step. When he was only a few paces away, the Japanese soldier seemed to sense something and was just about to stand and turn around when Leitao struck with lightning speed. He lunged forward, clamped his left hand over the man’s mouth, and plunged the dagger deep into his neck. The Japanese soldier struggled for a few moments before going limp. After neutralizing the sentry, Leitao and Meng Xiaoyu continued on. They hadn't gone far when a flurry of heavy footsteps and Japanese chatter echoed from ahead; there were at least five or six soldiers. As the Japanese patrol drew nearer, Leitao pulled two silencers for the M1911 pistols from the Bagua Spinning Top Space and tossed one to Meng Xiaoyu. "I'll take the four on the right; you take the two on the left," he whispered. Meng Xiaoyu deftly caught the silencer, screwed it onto her pistol with practiced speed, and gave a slight nod to signal she was ready. Her heart pounded in her chest, yet her eyes glinted with excitement. She stared fixedly at the cell door, waiting for the patrol to step into her line of fire.
