Chapter 6

The private rooms were filled with clamor and debate. When the spectacle was at its peak, it suddenly stopped. Who had lost their patience and made a move?
Throughout the building, suspicion and doubt swirled.
Had someone made an accidental move? Or had Master Luo found a way to slip away? Was he all show and no substance?
If it were the latter, it would be truly infuriating.
So, had they been played?
Sheng Xiuhan and Jiang Yinhuai stood by the window, watching this dramatic turn of events. To dare to play the disappearing act right under everyone’s noses—
"Xiuhan, what do you think?" Jiang Yinhuai smiled lightly. He had expected someone to take action, but in the end, the target had run off on his own.
Sheng Xiuhan gestured toward the floor below with a slender finger, his voice seductive and low. "Someone down there must have called that master away. Either way, he won't fall into anyone else's hands."
The real show was about to begin.
Elsewhere, Xingluo loosened her tightly clenched fist. She had not expected things to be this interesting.
*To slip away quietly right under everyone’s noses—impressive. He is worthy of being from the Luo clan, which even my teacher praises.*
It seemed her worries were superfluous; if he could not fall into her hands, he certainly wouldn't fall into anyone else's either.
"Boss, should we still..." Luomingjing’s disappearance had shocked everyone present. Xing Yi did not know what to do next.
Xingluo looked at Xing Yi and patted his shoulder. "Since he doesn't want to see us, we'll solve it ourselves. I refuse to believe we can't find those bastards without the Tianyan Art. What is ours will eventually be ours. Some things cannot be forced."
Xingluo felt she could leave now; staying any longer seemed pointless.

Over there, Luomingjing had used a spell to arrive at Yanzhu’s private room. He pulled off his bamboo hat, revealing his pretty face, and leaned in toward Yanzhu.
"Zhuzi, I missed you so much! You finally woke up, *ying ying ying*."
Yanzhu dodged him, sounding somewhat angry. "Do you know what you’re doing?" *Do you not want your life anymore?*
She kept the latter part to herself; it was a bit too harsh.
They were not like her. If she died, she would still carry the memories and magical power of her past and previous lives, and one day she would return and find them again. It had been like this for thousands of years—bizarre, yet the truth. But they were different. If something happened to them, what would she do?
This day might eventually come, but she wanted to be selfish for once and have that day arrive as late as possible. At the very least, she did not want to let go.
Immortality was something everyone had dreamed of since ancient times. Sometimes Yanzhu wanted to possess it or grant it to them, but it seemed not to exist. She had seen much, traveled far, and met many people; when time ran out, it seemed she was always the only one left.
Luomingjing suddenly quieted down, looking somewhat desolate. "Zhuzi, my waiting... it was a huge commotion. Do you know how long I waited?"
Yanzhu and Gaoshu looked at Luomingjing, feeling a pang of heartache.
"Haha, but now that the goal is achieved," Luomingjing suddenly dropped the sadness and laughed loudly at the two of them. "Why aren't you laughing?"
Yanzhu and Gaoshu: "..."
"Alright, alright, get ready to go back. I’ll treat you to a big meal. Don’t be angry anymore."
As expected, one shouldn’t be too quick to feel bad for others, or else you’d be the one feeling bad for yourself the next second.
*Boom.* A deep, booming voice rang out. Someone was shouting directly at Luomingjing!
"Master Luo, how can you be so willful and toy with us like this!"
"How can we trust Master Luo if you act like this? Are you just all show?"
"Do you know the consequences of playing us for fools?"
"Master Luo, we came here out of respect for your reputation. Do not be afraid; I will escort you and ensure your safety. Please, show us what you can really do."
A cacophony of accusations and inquiries erupted all at once.
"Tsk." Luomingjing hadn't expected the people here today to be so stubborn. He spoke helplessly, "I've never encountered this situation before." As he spoke, he winked at Yanzhu.
Yanzhu didn't speak, because she didn't know what to say to Luomingjing. This time was definitely different; good things always attracted covetous eyes.
After a long while, Yanzhu decided to take them and leave. If anyone here had a Soul-Seeking Ruler, finding them would be a matter of seconds. The longer they stayed, the more likely something would go wrong.
Yanzhu smoothed her sleeves, lifted her gaze, and spoke in a calm voice: "Get ready to leave."
They knew there might not be an easy way out; there were likely people waiting for them below. Even if thousands of people stood in their way, if they wanted to leave, they would leave.
Regarding this, Yanzhu felt that if they couldn't just walk out, then they would blow this place up. It was no big deal.
The Mortal Realm had rules: one could not attack ordinary people, or a special administrative bureau would intervene.
Luomingjing led the way, Yanzhu in the middle, and Gaoshu in the back. They descended the stairs one by one, exuding an air of arrogant indifference as if nothing mattered.
A crowd was waiting at the foot of the stairs, and others sat on the first floor, keeping their eyes on the elevators and the stairwell.
It seemed someone had already made a move. The elevators were blocked and unusable; located in a secluded area, it would be hard to notice they had been tampered with, and they would likely cause major trouble. The only exit was the stairs.
Yanzhu surveyed the scene coldly, her arms crossed, her reddened lips pursed.
The staircase was spiral-shaped and visible from every floor. Anyone walking down was bound to be the center of attention. They walked with feigned nonchalance, while everyone else watched with intense focus.
Yaojiu couldn't help but sigh: *Sigh, it looks like there's going to be a fight.*
It really wanted to see Yanzhu’s true strength and whether she was worth following or trusting. It also wanted to mock her—she had a Nine-Tailed Spirit-Absorbing Cat, a powerful beast, yet she hadn't even thought to form a contract with it. Humans were truly ignorant.
"Boss, could it be them? Their temperament looks like it, especially the one in the middle." Xing Yi pointed at Yanzhu’s group.
Xingluo raised an eyebrow and looked over. Yanzhu and her companions were being blocked from the front and back, and she was startled.
*That’s Yanzhu. Why is she here?*
*What is Yanzhu doing here? This is so dangerous—does she have a death wish?*
Xingluo ran out immediately. Xing Yi watched his boss sprint past him and hurriedly notified Bai Weiyi, "Sister Bai, the situation is unclear. Boss has run out—everyone, stay alert!"
"May I ask if you have seen Master Luo?" Wenzhi stepped forward to block them, his tone brooking no argument.
Luomingjing smiled. "What? Does this mean you think we are hiding your master?" Luomingjing let out a breath; he had been using a modulated voice just now.
Yanzhu smiled and spoke: "Don't spread rumors without evidence." The girl’s smile was clean and bright, making everything she said seem perfectly reasonable.
Wenzhi looked at Yanzhu’s smiling face, but felt a strange sense of danger.
Underneath her sleeves, Yanzhu had already channeled her strength. If things truly turned ugly, she would just fight her way out!
The surroundings fell into a deathly silence, as if everyone was waiting for the other side to make the next move.
"Little sister, why are you here?"
Yanzhu looked back and saw Xingluo standing on the fifth floor, smiling at her.
*Why is she here?* Yanzhu thought carefully. It was normal for Xingluo to be here; after all, the first time she saw Xingluo, she had felt the fluctuation of magical power on her.
Yanzhu sighed imperceptibly. It seemed she had more trouble on her hands. She couldn't very well leave this sister behind.
*Let’s just leave together.*
