"Damn System, open my personal stat panel."
The familiar blue light flashed briefly before Furin's eyes, and the system interface materialized once more:
Name: Uchiha Furin Age: 5 Gender: Female (from body to soul, she's a girl, and her mindset is getting right on board!) Inventory: Kasugano Sora's Dress, Friendship Cheat Sheet Abilities: 【Celestial Immortal Aptitude】【Spirit Liquid Phantom Fragrance】【Hydro-Splash】【Ask and You Shall Receive】 Power Rating: Completed the crucial transition from ordinary person to ninja; currently possesses Genin strength, but falls far short of a peak Genin.
Furin looked over her personal stat panel. Although the content remained as punchable as ever, seeing the power rating brought a brief wave of small pride to her heart.
All her hard training over the past few days hadn't been in vain.
During these past few days, Furin had settled into a strict routine.
Every morning, she would wake up early, roll up her sleeves, and dash into the kitchen to whip up a fragrant, delicious breakfast for her family.
After breakfast, Furin would begin her time of solo cultivation. Itachi and Dad were far too busy, leaving Furin to train alone most of the time.
Once training wrapped up, she would head over to have a heart-to-heart with Shisui. After their chat, she'd go home and sleep with Mama Mikoto.
As for what they talked about? Did she even need to ask? Naturally, it was urging Shisui to be on guard against Danzo!
Yet as things stood now, Shisui was thoroughly sick of her nagging. The moment he laid eyes on her, he'd turn and bolt, dodging her at every turn.
Case in point, today was shaping up to be the exact same scene.
Furin stood right at the entrance of Shisui's house, shouting toward the courtyard, "Brother Shisui, I've come to see you!"
Her voice echoed through the crisp morning air, but the courtyard remained dead silent, completely unresponsive.
Furin frowned, planting both hands on her hips, and grumbled with puffed-up cheeks, "Strange, where'd he go and hide this time?"
Right at that moment, Shisui was standing up in a nearby tree, his entire body concealed among the dense foliage. He pressed himself flat against the trunk, holding his breath without daring to draw even a single deep one, terrified of giving away his position.
"Whew—" He quietly wiped away the cold sweat beading on his forehead, muttering softly to himself, "Good thing my reflexes were fast, or Furin would've caught me again."
Shisui sat perched on a branch, gazing at Furin standing in the courtyard below, as memories of the past few days' "terrifying ordeal" flooded his mind, instantly making his scalp tingle.
Every single day, he had to endure Furin's non-stop, chattering little mouth—
"Trusting Danzo never ends well, you'll live to regret it."
"Danzo is no good. He even wants to become Hokage and stage a coup!"
"In the future, Danzo's going to gouge your eyeballs out, aren't you scared?"
……
Such warnings came in all sorts of endless varieties, almost never repeating themselves.
What drove Shisui to the brink of a breakdown was that Furin paid zero attention to the time or place!
At dawn, if he tried to linger in bed for even a second, Furin would yank off his blankets and shout in her milky yet thoroughly "intimidating" voice, "Brother Shisui, the sun's already burning your backside!"
At mealtime, just as he hoped to enjoy a moment of peace and quiet, Furin would lecture him with her endless trivia regarding Danzo's "evil deeds."
Before going to sleep at night, just when he thought he could catch some quiet, Furin would actually regale him with "bedtime stories"—the content consisting entirely of how "insidious and cunning" Danzo was, conveniently sliding in threats that Shisui had better protect his precious eyes.
This 24-hour uninterrupted "care" made Shisui's life an absolute misery. Yet every time Furin finished her "mission," she would trot home fully satisfied, leaving him standing there in a daze, unable to snap back to reality for the longest time.
At this recollection, Shisui couldn't help letting out a sigh. "Good grief, not a single peaceful day..."
Furin stood in the courtyard, looking around in all directions for a long time, before suddenly feeling like something was amiss. She halted, planted her hands on her hips, tilted her head, and muttered to herself, "Strange, is Brother Shisui really not here? Why do I get the feeling he's right nearby..."
A chill ran down Shisui's spine. He pressed himself even tighter against the tree trunk, praying that Furin wouldn't spot him.
Yet Furin frowned, scanned her surroundings once more with meticulous care, and suddenly broke into a cunning smile. She whispered, "System, scan for Shisui's location!"
That's right, one of the System's features was the ability to detect the positions of living beings within a hundred-meter radius—truly a divine artifact for tracking people down.
The System's voice rang out immediately, its tone laced with gloating glee: "Host, he's up in the tree! Go get him!"
Furin instantly locked onto her target, a mischievous grin blooming across her face. "Brother Shisui, don't blame me!"
With a wave of her small hand, she chanted, "Water Release—Water Ball Jutsu."
Before Shisui could even react, a volley of water spheres plummeted from the sky, striking the very branch where he was hiding. With a sharp "Splatter!", Shisui was drenched thoroughly from head to toe.
"Pfft—hahaha, finally caught you!" Furin doubled over with her hands on her hips, laughing uncontrollably.
Shisui leaped down from the tree, shaking the water droplets off his body while looking at her in utter helplessness. "Furin, isn't this water-throwing game a bit too extreme?!"
"Who told you to always hide from me?" Furin pouted. "I'm helping you out in all seriousness! That guy Danzo is truly dangerous, why won't you listen to my advice?"
Shisui raised a hand to rub her little head and sighed helplessly. "Alright, alright, my bad. Lady Furin, what are your orders? Spit it out."
Hearing this, Furin immediately puffed out her small chest, ready to launch into a fresh round of "heart-to-heart education"……
Seeing the look of despair mixed with absolute resignation on Shisui's face, Furin couldn't help letting out a soft "pfft" of laughter.
"Alright, alright, I won't tease you anymore. Next up, I'll ask you three questions. Answer them right, and I'll stop bugging you." She spoke with a sly expression, her eyes flashing with little demon-like glints.
Hearing this, Shisui acted as though he had caught a lifeline. His entire demeanor perked up, his previously drooping gaze turning instantly resolute.
"Deal!" he answered with utter conviction, as if correctly answering these three questions would grant him escape from Furin's "clutches once and for all."
Seeing him so cooperative, Furin nodded in satisfaction. "Hm, since you've got so much confidence, let's begin. Question number one—what kind of person is Danzo?"
The corner of Shisui's mouth twitched, and he sighed inwardly. Naturally, this question couldn't possibly avoid Danzo.
Fortunately, this was one of Furin's daily mantras, and he knew it by heart. Shisui cleared his throat and assumed a serious expression.
"Danzo is the tumor of Konoha, the parasite of society, abusing power for personal gain, insidious and cunning. Someday he'll pose a threat to the Uchiha Clan, and we must be on guard against him every single second!"
Every single word rang out clear and forceful, recited just like reciting from a textbook.
Furin nodded in satisfaction upon hearing this and clapped her hands. "Not bad at all, that answer has some substance to it!"
Shisui felt a wave of relief wash over him, secretly rejoicing. It seemed this little girl wasn't genuinely trying to make things impossible for him.
Before he could even catch his breath, however, Furin pressed on: "Alright, question number two—what is your responsibility?"
Shisui instinctively furrowed his brow; he knew the answer to this one too. After all, this was the code of conduct Furin had hammered into him countless times across the dinner table.
He straightened his back and once again replied in a reciting tone:
"Always march in step with Danzo, never go solo, absolutely never try to be a hero, and absolutely never act rashly! Your own safety comes above all else!"
Furin glanced at him sideways and nodded. "Hm, not bad, I'll give you a passing grade."
Shisui let out a massive sigh of relief. That was two questions down, and his answers had been utterly flawless. The final question would be a breeze!
Yet when Furin tossed out the third question, his expression instantly froze.
"Question number three—if you were facing Danzo right now, what should you do?"
Shisui's brow furrowed deep. This question was far too tricky! Danzo was one of the village elders, how could anyone just lash out at will?
After pondering for a moment, he answered with utmost caution, "Uh... should I run away immediately?"
Furin shook her head, wagging a finger right in front of Shisui's face, a hint of disappointment coloring her tone. "Wrong, wrong, that's not the standard answer."
Shisui felt his heart flutter anxiously under the wagging finger, forcing him to ask, "Then... then tell me, what is the answer?"
Furin smiled smugly, swept her hand outward, and pointed toward the open air as she declared earnestly, "The answer is simple! You should first glare at him with a Geninjustu, then quickly close in and land a flying kick, and only run away after that!"
Shisui stood frozen. The expression on his face morphed from shock to speechlessness, and finally to resignation. "That hardly seems appropriate..."
"Hmm?" Furin narrowed her eyes slightly, one eyebrow arching up as her aura suddenly shifted, clearly displeased with his skepticism.
Seeing her take on this look, Shisui couldn't help shivering and waved his hands frantically. "No, no, I mean... this tactic is far too dangerous, it just isn't right for me!"
Furin placed her hands on her hips and retorted without a shred of politeness: "Dangerous? You're a powerhouse known as 'Shisui of the Teleporter', and you're turning yellow over a tiny situation like this? Brother Shisui, you're pathetic."
Shisui opened his mouth, wanting to argue back, but honestly had no idea how to respond to that, leaving him with no choice but to let out a silent sigh.
"Fine, fine, go back and reflect on yourself!" Furin waved her hand dismissively, wearing an expression that screamed of disappointment in his failure to reach her expectations.
With her hands clasped behind her back, she walked a few steps on tiptoe, swaying back and forth like some old pedantic scholar, muttering under her breath, "Truly a child that cannot be taught, wood that cannot be carved!"
Watching Furin strut around playing the part of a tiny adult, Shisui felt the corners of his mouth twitch uncontrollably.
He wanted to say something, but feared being subjected to more "lectures," so he could only sigh inwardly. In the end, though, he couldn't help himself and asked weakly, "Furin... are you coming back next time?"
Furin stopped in her tracks, her back turned to Shisui. She canted her head slightly and flashed a cunning smile. "Hehe, guess!"
Shisui froze, instantly sensing danger. "Uh... this..."
"I'm kidding, I won't come."
Furin turned her head, winked at him with a playful grin, and turned back around to continue skipping down the path.
Watching Furin's retreating figure, Shisui breathed a sigh of relief, yet a lingering unease remained in his heart. "Is she really not coming back? Or is she... just letting me off the hook for now?"
Furin walked a few paces further, glanced back once at Shisui, and seeing the look of utter relief on his face, couldn't help turning up the corners of her mouth as a wave of fulfillment washed over her. "Looks like my education was a resounding success!"
Truth be told, Furin knew full well that if Shisui truly ended up crossing paths with Danzo, avoiding him entirely might be unrealistic; still, having that guard up inside his mind was always a good thing. At the very least, it would keep him from getting his eyes gouged out the way he did in the original story. Thinking of this, Furin felt a mixture of pride and emotional stirring.
"Sigh, educating a stubborn older brother is truly no easy task!" Furin muttered to herself silently, though a satisfied smile hung on her face as she continued walking homeward.
