Morning sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains, casting a warm glow right across Furin's little face.
She wrinkled her nose and opened her eyes reluctantly. Glancing at Mikoto, who was still fast asleep, Furin quietly pulled back the blanket and carefully climbed out of bed, terrified of waking her.
"System, equip Kasugano Sora's Dress!" Furin muttered to herself inwardly, her voice tinged with a hint of excitement.
A faint flash of light washed over her, replacing her crumpled pajamas with a pure white dress. The hem swayed gently, clear and translucent like morning dew.
Furin hurried over to the small mirror in the corner of the room, stood on tiptoes, and looked at herself, her bright eyes filled with novelty and smugness.
"Hehe, right now I'm basically a miniature version of Kasugano Sora! Aside from the red eyes looking a bit weird, everything else is an exact match!" She spun around, talking to herself as the dress fluttered with her movement. Furin couldn't help breaking into a grin.
"Right, next..." Furin rubbed her belly, her tone carrying the smugness of a little adult. "I'll make everyone's breakfast first! Mom will definitely be so happy!"
Just then, a familiar voice rang out in her mind: "The host is so virtuous, actually taking the initiative to make breakfast."
Furin froze, then stomped her foot angrily. "System! You're out here scaring people again!"
"Hehe, I just think the host is really great. You're both hardworking and sensible—you'll definitely be a model child in the future." The System's voice sounded utterly shameless, giving Furin a headache.
"Hmph, save the flattery." Furin muttered softly, then suddenly thought of something. She looked up and asked, "By the way, do you have a family?"
"This system doesn't have one, oh." The System's tone instantly turned serious.
Furin blinked and curled her lip. "Well, there you go! You don't understand the benefits of family at all."
The System fell silent for a moment, followed by the sound of soft sobbing. "Wuwuwu... Not having a family is so pitiful. Am... am I a total failure..."
Furin was left a bit at a loss by this sudden turn of events. She scratched her head and said flusteredly, "Hey, don't cry! I was just joking!"
"Wuwuwu... But I feel so sad... Without a family, is my life incomplete forever..."
"Fine, fine!" Furin pouted, her voice tinged with impatience. "T-Then I'll be your family from now on, okay?!"
"Really?" The System's voice instantly turned cheerful, the crying tone vanishing without a trace. "The host is willing to be my family? That's amazing!"
Furin curled her lip and muttered softly, "Unbelievable, getting stuck with a system like this..."
The System didn't hear her complaint and went on rejoicing to itself, "Now that I have a family, I'll definitely treat the host even better from now on!"
"Then you'd better behave! Stop giving me weird quests!"
Furin put her hands on her hips and lectured the System with a deadpan expression.
She completely forgot that she had just been sneaking around trying on a dress to admire herself. Humming a little tune, Furin took small steps as she ran toward the kitchen, thinking happily about making a special breakfast for her family.
"I wonder how Itachi will react when he sees me like this?"
Furin talked to herself in front of the mirror, playing with the hem of her dress as she gave a satisfied spin.
"Don't worry!" The System's familiar, shameless voice popped up. "Produced by this system, it must be of the highest quality. Host, this wave of yours will definitely make their jaws drop!"
Furin rolled her eyes at the System's confidence, but still felt a small thrill of anticipation. She flicked her skirt, walked toward the kitchen with firm steps, and began preparing today's breakfast.
About half an hour later, the aroma of breakfast gradually drifted through the air, and a lavish spread was carried to the dining table plate by plate—golden fried eggs, appetizing bacon, crystal-clear porridge, and beautifully matched side dishes. Looking at the table full of delicacies, Furin felt quite proud of herself.
"Everyone! Time to eat!" Furin clapped her hands, turned toward the rooms, and gently knocked on doors one by one to wake her family.
"Dad, Mom, big brothers, time to get up! Breakfast is ready!" Furin's voice was soft, sweet, and laced with pride.
Her sweet calls echoed throughout the Uchiha household, and the adults and children poked their heads out of their rooms one after another, still half-asleep and groggy.
When everyone sat down at the dining table, the table laden with food immediately shocked them all.
"This..." Mikoto looked at the table full of delicacies, her eyes filled with disbelief. "Furin, did you make all of this?"
Fugaku wore an expression other than his usual stern look for once, picking up his chopsticks to take a bite before exclaiming, "Not bad! I never expected our Furin to have skills like this!"
Furin put her hands on her hips, her face full of smugness. "Hmph hmph, did you think I could only fry eggs? This is my true power!"
The two parents' shock was clearly caused by the spread of food, but as for the two big brothers... their gazes fell much more on Furin herself.
Sasuke raised his head, a dazed look in his eyes.
Looking at Furin in her white dress, the hem swaying gently with her proud movements, her little face with white hair and red eyes full of pride, she looked so cute she belonged in a painting.
Sasuke's heart skipped a beat, and he couldn't help speaking up, "Furin, where did you get this outfit? It looks so good on you..."
Itachi appeared much steadier. He silently glanced at Furin, his gaze gentle yet profound, as if witnessing another facet of his little sister's growth. With a slight upward curve of his lips, he murmured, "Furin's cooking and fashion sense are both amazing."
Furin's earlobes turned slightly red under their combined gaze, and she gave a light wave of her hand. "Ahem, don't just praise me, eat! It's best while it's hot!"
Sasuke lowered his head to pick up some food, but his gaze kept darting toward Furin from time to time, as if trying to etch this sight firmly into his mind.
Itachi remained calm, though he picked up a few extra mouthfuls, as if using his actions to express his approval of Furin.
The family sat around the dining table in a relaxed and warm atmosphere. As Furin watched everyone enjoy the food, she secretly sized up her brothers' reactions, feeling a bit proud inside.
Hmph hmph, highly effective!
At the dining table, Furin was busy as a bee. Her chopsticks danced like butterflies, picking up this and that, continuously adding food to her family's bowls.
"Eat more, eat more! Dad needs to work hard, and Sasuke big brother needs to study hard!"
Furin laughed as she placed a fried egg into Fugaku's bowl, then transferred a tender chunk of braised meat to Sasuke.
Sasuke buried his head in eating, but couldn't help glancing at Furin every now and then. Why was the food his little sister picked out so delicious?
Taking a single bite lifted his entire mood, completely sweeping away the resentment of waking up early for school.
Fugaku wore a thoroughly gratified expression, gazing tenderly at his youngest daughter. He picked up his chopsticks, took a bite, and couldn't help sighing, "It's still daughters who are considerate! Unlike these two brats, who only know how to eat."
With that, Fugaku glanced at Sasuke, who was busy stuffing his face, and his mood shifted. He irritably raised a hand and gave the top of Sasuke's head a light tap.
"You brat! Making your little sister serve you food—can't your own hands move?"
Sasuke wore a tearful expression, thinking: Why is it always me who gets hurt?!
Yet meeting Fugaku's gaze, he could only obediently cover his head and mutter an apology, "I got it..."
Hearing this, Mikoto couldn't help letting out a soft chuckle and speaking in a gentle tone, "Fugaku, don't always pick on Sasuke. He's still just a child."
"That said, Sasuke should also learn to take care of his sister. Look how sensible Furin is."
Sasuke secretly peeked at Furin and saw her happily serving food with a sweet, soft smile on her face, instantly feeling a pang of guilt.
Hesitating for a moment, he clumsily picked up a chicken leg and placed it in Furin's bowl, whispering, "Little sister, this is for you..."
Seeing Sasuke's action, Furin's eyes lit up, filled with joy. "Thank you, big brother!"
That soft "Thank you, big brother," paired with Furin's brilliant smile, struck Sasuke right in the heart.
Sasuke froze for a few seconds, touched the spot where his old man had just tapped him, and suddenly realized his head didn't hurt anymore, while even the lingering gloom in his heart had vanished completely.
Sure enough, little sisters are the cutest!
Watching this scene, Fugaku couldn't help nodding. "Mm, you still have a bit of a conscience." He glanced at Itachi. "You should learn from this too, instead of always letting your sister do all the work."
Itachi smiled gently. "The food Furin serves really is special, but—" He picked up a piece of meat and placed it in Furin's bowl. "Big brother has a return gift too."
Mikoto nodded with satisfaction, then picked up her chopsticks, grabbed a fried egg, and dropped it into Furin's bowl. "Furin should eat more too. Don't just focus on taking care of everyone else, understand?"
Mikoto's tone was gentle yet carried a touch of maternal authority, warming Furin's heart.
Furin looked at the small mountain of food piling up in her bowl, so happy her eyes crinkled into crescent moons.
"Got it, Mom!" Furin replied obediently, lowering her head to earnestly pick up the fried egg and take a bite, a blissful smile on her face.
"That's right." Mikoto smiled and stroked Furin's head. "Our Furin really is a good child."
Hearing this, Furin blushed and waved her little hands. "Ahem, stop praising me, hurry up and eat!"
