"It seems I have no talent for space-time ninjutsu!" Orochimaru muttered, gazing at the Flying Thunder God scroll before him. In the original story, acquiring this ninjutsu shouldn't have been too difficult for Orochimaru. Setting aside any trade with Danzo, he had visited the forbidden archives of Sealing Techniques himself; it was practically impossible for him not to get his hands on it. With its incredible utility for both escaping and eliminating enemies, Orochimaru could not help but covet it, yet he never learned it later on. Presumably, he simply failed to master it. Even though Orochimaru now possessed the space-time ninjutsu Sonido, that was a system reward—tantamount to a direct infusion of knowledge that required no foundational learning on his part.
