A black speck moved rapidly a thousand meters above the ground. If this world possessed airplanes or UFOs, this certainly wasn’t one of them; it was Orochimaru. Moments ago, Orochimaru had bid farewell to the White Snake Sage and the three elders of Ryuchi Cave. The parting was naturally filled with a hint of reluctance, mostly because they didn’t want to let him go. Having grown accustomed to the delicacies Orochimaru prepared, the prospect of returning to their primitive diet was unappealing. Fortunately, they had learned a great deal about his culinary techniques over the past six months. While they hadn't mastered everything, they could at least handle basic roasted fish and grilled meat—it was merely a matter of controlling the heat and sprinkling on seasoning. They had also picked up the essentials of hot pots and spicy stews, which were simple enough for anyone with hands to execute. Orochimaru found it incredible that he had single-handedly changed their centuries-old habit of devouring raw meat; he really owed his past life a debt of gratitude for that. Before he left, perhaps moved by Orochimaru’s diligence over the last half-year, the White Snake Sage had even infused Shiro with a method for serpent cultivation. Orochimaru patted Shiro, who was perched on his head; the little guy was truly blessed.
