Before leaving the Land of Water, Yuka successfully signed a summoning contract with the little birds she had been raising. However, they were still too small and far from ready to help in combat; they needed time to grow.
According to Jiraiya's estimation, once fully grown, these birds would prove to be extremely fierce raptors. They belonged to the hawk family, yet differed from standard eagles. With a bit of luck, a mature specimen would grow large enough to assist Yuka in aerial combat while also possessing the exceptional scouting abilities unique to birds.
Yuka left them plenty of food, bid a reluctant farewell to her little companions, and set off with Jiraiya toward the Land of Wind.
