Early in the morning, a ray of sunlight filtered through the gap in the curtains and landed on Hu Haili's face, dazzling her eyes so she couldn't keep them open. Still needing her sleep, Hu Haili acted coquettishly toward the man beside her: "Darling, this sunlight is blinding. Close the curtains, I want to sleep a little longer." The reserves He Wenjie had built up last night gave her a whole new appreciation for just how tough a man's body could be. She clearly had never seen He Wenjie go to the gym to work out, so why was he so endlessly vigorous? Hu Haili couldn't remember what time they had finally fallen asleep last night; she only felt as though she had just drifted off when the sunlight woke her right back up.
He Wenjie reached out and covered Hu Haili's eyes. "Be a good girl, it's pitch dark now, go back to sleep."
Hu Haili pushed away the hand plastered across her face, turned over so the sunlight hit her back, and fell right back asleep. The next time Hu Haili woke up, it was because of the aroma of food. He Wenjie had set seafood porridge, prepped the night before, alongside two light side dishes on the dining table. With her eyes closed, Hu Haili followed her nose right over, dropped heavily onto a stool, opened her eyes to see the breakfast He Wenjie had carefully prepared for her, and happily planted a kiss on his cheek.
