"Little one, let's resume our journey tomorrow." After calling out to the Little Beast, Jian Xin and the companion animal continued forward. By now it was broad daylight, and along the way they did not encounter any more overly powerful members of the Beast Clan. Jian Xin figured this was perhaps because the Little Beast was still covered in blood, which served to deter other beasts. Most of the creatures they did run into possessed a strength and realm comparable to her own. Choosing not to engage, they walked on safely for a whole day, and Jian Xin managed to harvest quite a few Spiritual Herbs in the forest. When night fell, Jian Xin decided to rest for the night, finding a moss-filled stone cave. The cave was not large; strictly speaking, it resembled more of a small pocket within the mountain mass, with a single crack about a person's width serving as the entrance. Jian Xin could only just barely squeeze herself inside, but the interior space was quite roomy. Given this setup, there was no need to worry about encountering any dangerous beasts. Flames flickered in Jian Xin's palm, scorching the moss inside the cave until nothing was left. The Little Beast very consciously curled up beside Jian Xin, while a small cluster of flames landed on the ground, providing warmth and a touch of light to the stone cave. Both Jian Xin and the Little Beast quickly drifted off to sleep.
