Chapter 104: Black Bread Soren ordered the Reconnaissance Battalion to leave a company behind to guard the area for three days. After that, each battalion would take turns dispatching a company to rotate the garrison duty. This was to prevent other people on the island from sneaking in to dig up the corpses and desecrate the brave men who had sacrificed their lives heroically in battle. The Quartermaster Battalion, after gathering sufficient water and supplies, retreated ahead of time to the boundary between the Beach Area and the Reef District to prepare for dinner. Given the large number of personnel and the cluttered, uneven terrain, the Reef District was unsuitable for stationing troops. Therefore, Soren chose the junction of the two areas as the encampment for the Legion. First, the Beach Area had open terrain, making it convenient for daily training and resting. Second, it was for the sake of long-term planning, so that preparatory work could be done in advance. What Soren wanted was not just temporary victory; what he wanted was to keep winning.
