Her original plan was to have Cheng Xingxing's parents come to the police station to take her back—she had even arranged for someone to invite them. Yet the police station turned out to have connections with those people and had acted with astonishing speed. Having been released less than ten minutes after her arrival, she had no choice but to leave, pushed into a course of action she loathed the most. "Yiyi, um... thank you!" Cheng Xingxing said, lowering her head and looking at her with a trace of embarrassment.
