Beijing, in the East District of the New Era Art District, stands the Borui Pavilion.
The predecessor of the Borui Pavilion was a five-story factory production building constructed in the 1970s. Broad, sturdy, and rugged, it bore a very typical Soviet style, which is now rarely seen in the highly modernized city of Beijing.
That it was able to be preserved is thanks to the development of the art district. The designer at the time converted it into a large-scale art exhibition center and divided it into multiple functional areas, breathing new life into this forty-year-old building and making it a unique scenic spot within the district.
