Following the official decree from Ji Hongyu, the stream of gold and jewelry sent to her had ceased. Furong’s belly was becoming increasingly prominent. The First Prince had now formally taken charge of the river embankment construction, with the Ministry of Works and the Ministry of Revenue navigating the procedures for personnel and funding. Of course, all of this seemed to have nothing to do with Jiang Cangyue. Since that day at the opera, Ji Yanxiao had also become occupied. Tingwu, however, had found the opera quite amusing and, for once, paid out of his own pocket to go again.
