For the next few days, Yang Bairao spent his leisure time practicing with his long spear, putting on a show for the people of the Yang Estate. Most of the time, however, he stayed in his small courtyard tinkering with various wild ideas.
When the dawn of the seventh day arrived, Yang Bairao took his spear, stuffed some unknown wrapped items into his robe, and—choosing to forget his past and feigning an air of composure—walked toward the assembly hall of the Yang Estate.
By the time Yang Bairao arrived, apart from the eight people he had seen last time, there were two additional youths of the same age. Including Yang Bairao himself, there were now eleven people making this trip.
