The ruins of Sky Island 'Bika' appeared and disappeared faintly in the clouds. Ancient stone structures floated above the vast sea of clouds, like scenes from a myth. But today, this sacred land was shrouded in the shadow of war.
Three ships of distinctly different styles formed a triangular standoff: the Revolutionary Army's Swift Assault Ship, the Ice Flame Pirates' Technological Warship, and a new Marine unit equipped with rare Aerial Combat Equipment. All three parties shared the same goal: a text rumored to contain an Ancient Weapon Design Blueprint located deep within the ruins.
Sabo stood at the bow of the Revolutionary Army's ship, looking at the other two forces with a solemn expression. "I didn't expect the news to leak so quickly."
Koala adjusted her Aerial Combat Equipment. "The Ice Flame Pirates have at least thirty people, all equipped with Aerial Combat Devices. The Marines seem to be Koby's SWORD."
Meanwhile, Elena of the Ice Flame Pirates impatiently issued orders. "Break through directly! Give them a taste of our new equipment!"
On the Marine vessel, Koby calmly commanded, "Maintain formation, do not fire first. Our mission is to prevent the Ancient Weapon Design Blueprint from falling into anyone's hands, not to seize it."
The tense standoff was shattered by a loud explosion. An impatient member of the Ice Flame Pirates fired a Shoulder-mounted Shock Cannon, targeting the Revolutionary Army's ship.
"Evasive!" Sabo roared. The Revolutionary Army's ship agilely shifted sideways, the shock cannon grazing its hull as it flew past, hitting the sea of clouds below and creating a burst of vapor.
It was like the firing of a starting gun, and the three sides instantly plunged into chaos.
The Ice Flame Pirates, with their technological advantage, rained down dense energy beams on the other two factions. The Revolutionary Army, relying on flexibility and familiarity with the Sky Island environment, weaved through the ruins, counterattacking. The Marines attempted to maintain order but were inevitably drawn into the battle.
"Aerial Combat Formation!" Koby ordered. Marine soldiers activated their Jetpacks and took to the skies.
Sabo nodded to Koala. "Proceed as planned. I'll lead a team to break in!"
Taking advantage of the melee, Sabo led an elite team to quietly disengage from the main battlefield and head towards the largest ruin.
But Elena had anticipated this move. "Trying to sneak away? Not so easy!" She personally led a team to intercept, her hands gathering the Power of Ice and Fire.
Sabo skillfully dodged in the air, blocking an Ice Arrow with a Pipe. "Captain Elena, the Ancient Weapons should not be controlled by anyone!"
"Eloquent words!" Elena sneered. "Doesn't the Revolutionary Army want it too?"
"We want to protect it from misuse!" Sabo retorted, while at the same time ordering his team members to advance.
As the two leaders confronted each other, a Marine team had also broken through the defenses and was approaching the entrance to the ruin.
The interior of the ruin was far more complex than expected, with passages like a labyrinth, and the walls were covered with ancient Sky Island Script and strange patterns.
"Split up!" Sabo ordered. "Maintain communication!"
The team divided into three groups to explore different passages. Sabo, in a team of one, quickly discovered a hidden passage leading deeper in.
At the end of the passage was a circular hall. On a central stone platform was not the expected blueprint, but a complex Astrolabe. As Sabo approached, the Astrolabe suddenly activated, projecting a complex star map.
"This isn't a weapon blueprint..." Sabo exclaimed in shock. "This is..."
"The design principle of an Ancient Climate Control System," a voice came from behind him. Koby stood at the entrance with two Marines. "We were misled too. This isn't a weapon; it's climate control technology."
Suddenly, the entire ruin began to shake. Elena forcibly broke through the wall and was stunned upon seeing the Astrolabe. "What? Not the Pluto Blueprint?"
The three parties temporarily ceased hostilities, gazing at this astonishing discovery.
"The people of Bika were not a warring race," Sabo read the inscriptions on the wall. "They were Meteorologists. This device can control global climate."
Koby's expression was grave. "If this technology falls into the wrong hands, the consequences would be no less than an Ancient Weapon."
Elena's eyes, however, gleamed. "Controlling the climate... is more valuable than a mere weapon."
Just then, the ruin vibrated violently again, more intensely than before.
"This is bad!" a Marine soldier reported. "The fighting has destabilized the ruin's structure. It's about to collapse!"
"We must protect this knowledge!" Sabo shouted. "We can't let it be buried here!"
"Agreed!" Koby, for once, aligned with the Revolutionary Army's stance. "Secure it first, then discuss how to handle it!"
Even Elena nodded. "I don't want to perish with such valuable knowledge."
A brief cooperation between the three parties began. The Revolutionary Army was responsible for stabilizing the structure, the Marines for evacuating the passages, and the Ice Flame Pirates used their technological equipment to reinforce key support points.
During the cooperation, Sabo accidentally discovered a hidden compartment. Inside was not the Astrolabe, but a Poneglyph.
"Wait!" he shouted. "This is the truly important discovery!"
But as he tried to examine it further, a larger collapse began.
"We have to retreat!" Koby pulled Sabo. "The entire Sky Island is sinking!"
Helpless, the three parties had no choice but to abandon their pursuit and evacuate. Sabo managed to take a few photos of the Poneglyph with a Camera Bug, Koby recorded the key data from the Astrolabe, and Elena casually took a small ancient climate regulator.
After everyone had evacuated, the Bika ruins slowly sank into the sea of clouds, hidden once more.
Back on their respective ships, the three parties tacitly ceased fire. After a glance at each other, they departed.
Sabo looked at the photos of the Poneglyph, his expression growing more solemn. "This isn't about climate control... it's a warning!"
Koby also studied the data he obtained. "If this technology is misused, it could create global climatic disasters..."
Elena played with the small climate regulator, contemplating how to reverse-engineer the technology.
And after everyone had left, a cloaked ship slowly appeared. CP0 agents entered the not-yet-fully-submerged ruin and retrieved the truly complete Poneglyph and the core component of the Astrolabe.
"Phase Two complete," reported the Agent Captain. "They think they saw everything, but they don't know it was just the tip of the iceberg."
The battle for the Bika ruins seemed to have no winners, but in reality, everyone took away a piece of the truth, and with it, more mysteries. The emergence of the Ancient Climate Control System technology would change the world's balance of power, triggering a new round of open and covert struggles.
And the true mastermind, still observing from the shadows, waiting for the opportune moment to reap the benefits. The battle in the sky had temporarily subsided, but beneath the sea of clouds, the undercurrents were even more turbulent.
