Chapter 1
Sun Star.
Beneath the Fusang tree, one of the Ten Great Spiritual Roots—
Fuguang, the spirit of the Sun Star who had attained the Da Luo Golden Immortal Realm the moment he was born and had transformed into the likeness of a handsome young man, sat cross-legged atop a massive tree root. His brow was furrowed, his face a swirl of endless thoughts that he could not conceal no matter how hard he tried.
After a long while,
Fuguang let out a long sigh:
"What comes must be accepted, and peace found within!"
"Since I have already received a name bestowed by heaven and earth, gaining the recognition of the Primordial World, I am now the sole Great Sun Golden Crow between heaven and earth."
With this single thought, a thousand worldly troubles vanished.
He was a traveler from beyond the heavens.
At the very beginning of the creation of heaven and earth, he fell into the Sun Star and devoured the two Great Sun Golden Crows originally meant to be nurtured and born upon it, thereby embarking on the path of cultivation.
When his cultivation reached the True Immortal Realm, his true spirit attracted the favor of his own Great Dao, earning him the heavenly name—Fuguang.
From then on,
Fuguang was the sole Innate Divine upon the Sun Star!
He was also the first and only Great Sun Golden Crow within this Great Wilderness Universe.
"Though I say what comes must be accepted and peace found within,"
With his thoughts now settled, Fuguang's mind was exceptionally clear:
"Yet my aspirations are entirely different from those of Dijun and Taiyi!"
Brothers Dijun and Taiyi had ambitions higher than the heavens, yet lives as frail as paper.
Intent on becoming the lords of the Primordial World and ruling over the order of all living beings, the moment they took form and were born, they rushed headlong down into the Great Wilderness to make a name for themselves and subjugate various powerful figures as subordinates.
This was only natural—
After all, both were heaven-born sovereigns blessed with the ninety-nine supreme destiny, so embarking on a path of universal dominion was entirely fitting.
Their desire to rule the universe was not wrong.
It was only a pity that—
First came Dongwangong and Xiwangmu, the Head of Male Immortals and Head of Female Immortals who established their own factions, and later came the descendants of Pangu—the Wu clan, who bowed to no one.
And further down the line—
Six Heavenly Dao Sages who could still walk the Primordial World ascended to their thrones.
Among the sages, aside from Nuwa who attained sagehood by creating humanity, the remaining five great sages needed to spread their teachings across the Great Wilderness Universe and gather the Qi Fortune of all living beings under heaven. With the Heavenly Court pressing down from above, would the sages ever allow that?
Most certainly not.
To unify the Primordial World before the Heavenly Dao Sages attained sagehood might still have been feasible!
To still dream of unifying the Great Wilderness after the Heavenly Dao Sages attained sagehood?
An utter impossibility.
As for the brothers Dijun and Taiyi,
they had truly only made one mistake—
They were simply born in the wrong era.
However,
Fuguang's thoughts differed entirely from those of Dijun and Taiyi!
He was well aware of the targets of the upcoming Lich Tribulation in the Primordial World, and he harbored no ambitions whatsoever of becoming the lord of heaven and earth.
He merely wished to find a companion, live in unfettered freedom, and remain a Great Supernatural Being who existed aloof from the world.
As for the supreme Dao of the sages, acquiring it was best if possible, but failing to do so was of no great consequence.
Before transmigrating, he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in his early teens and had stubbornly endured for a decade or so, only for his short life to end after all.
He had never experienced love, nor had he tasted many of life's exquisite blessings.
Now,
having transmigrated to become an Innate Divine, Fuguang desired very little.
His few persistent obsessions were simply to—
Live a little longer.
Take a wife.
Lead a carefree and happy life.
"The Great Wilderness is far too dangerous."
Once again clarifying the obsession that had lingered in his heart ever since his transmigration,
Fuguang mused with deep emotion:
"Not only is a moment of carelessness enough to incur Karmic Retribution and karma, but the powerful figures of the future harbor all manner of plots and schemes, and the slightest lapse in attention will lead to falling into their traps!"
"Therefore—"
"Aside from having sufficient strength, one must make ample preparations for everything and keep their wits about them when dealing with people and affairs!"
With strength serving as a safeguard,
being steady and cautious—
surviving by staying low—
these were two of the three essential elements for roaming the Primordial World and enduring in style!
Do not mock the hidden tactician for hiding away; the hidden tactician lives to a ripe old age!
"Furthermore—"
Fuguang stroked his chin,
his eyes carrying a thoughtful gleam:
"Heavenly Dao Merit is likewise an indispensable umbrella of protection!"
In the Great Wilderness—
You could lack anything except virtue, and you must never have Karmic Retribution!
If one had Heavenly Dao Merit to shield the body, one could walk the world with a slightly bolder step.
Not to mention ensuring smooth progress in one's endeavors, merely plotting against you would force others to consider whether they could withstand the backlash of your Heavenly Dao Merit.
To take a step back—
Even if one were to fall due to a scheme despite being protected by Heavenly Dao Merit, once the Six Paths of Samsara emerged, one could still secure a favorable reincarnation!
"I have just taken form,"
Fuguang said aloud:
"At present, I am merely in the Early Daluo Golden Immortal Realm, with weak and lowly strength; moreover, I am accompanied by only three natal spiritual treasures—the Chaos Bell, the River Diagram, and the Luo Book—having refined a mere half of their seals."
"Although I already have some plans for acquiring Heavenly Dao Merit, venturing out into the Great Wilderness with such meager strength would be utterly unwise!"
"It is better to enter seclusion first and consolidate my own realm before discussing anything else!"
He truly felt that he was far too weak.
Possessing the strength of the Early Daluo Golden Immortal Realm and a mere three spiritual treasures,
with such thin foundations,
how could he possibly be qualified to wander indiscriminately through that dangerous Great Wilderness?
It was better to stay within his own comfort zone—the Daoist sanctuary of the Sun Star—to properly cultivate and consolidate his own realm first.
As for the detailed series of plans he had already devised for acquiring Heavenly Dao Merit before he even took form,
he could put them into execution once his strength grew somewhat greater.
