Chapter 7
Hum!
Dressed precisely as he was when he first descended into the Primordial World— in mysterious golden Dao robes, with his Golden Crow long sword and Golden Crow horsetail whisk.
Fuguang rode upon an auspicious cloud, departing directly from the Sun Star. Without haste or sluggishness, he headed straight for the Outer-Heavenly Chaos.
The starry sky of the Primordial World bordered the Chaos.
Beyond the starry sky, encompassing the entire firmament of the Primordial World, lay a natural barrier resembling a thin film, formed from the skin of the Great God Pangu. This barrier isolated the Chaos from directly eroding the Primordial World.
However,
this isolation was not absolute!
Instead, acting much like a filter, it sifted through the Qi of Chaos. It allowed the weaker Qi of Chaos—which could be transformed into the primordial spiritual energy capable of nurturing the Primordial World—to pass inward. After being filtered a second time by the starry sky, this energy descended into the realm to nourish all things and expand the Great Wilderness Universe.
Therefore—
the starry sky of the Primordial World was both desolate and dangerous.
Ordinary Daluo Golden Immortals were hardly willing to venture into the starry sky!
For one,
it was simply far too dangerous here.
For another,
the starry sky held an innate sense of repulsion toward all living beings upon the earth.
Aside from Fuguang, the two Lunar Goddesses—Xihe and Changxi—
and the Moon Goddess Wangshu, who had already perished in the distant ancient past, no one else could rely on the power of the stars to travel unhindered through the starry sky.
"Moon Goddess Wangshu."
As he traveled toward the edge of the Chaos, Fuguang glanced back in the direction of the Lunar Star, whose light was soft and chilly.
Fuguang's gaze was calm.
"She attained the supreme and singular fruit position of the Moon Goddess and the Lunar Deity, yet she still perished within the Tribulation."
"The root cause—"
"Was that she became far too deeply entangled in the Tribulation!"
As the two supreme stars that illuminated the heavens and earth of the Primordial World, the Sun Star and the Lunar Star had no peers among the other stars, save perhaps the Ziwei Emperor Star, which could barely compare to them in prestige.
After all, these two stars were formed from the eyes of the Great God Pangu!
Within the Great Wilderness Universe—
any entity with even the slightest tangible connection to the Great God Pangu was extraordinary beyond measure.
Furthermore,
the Sun and Lunar stars had bathed the Primordial land in light for endless years, accumulating a vast, immeasurable amount of Qi Fortune and merit.
Based on these two points alone—
no other stars could possibly compare or rival them!
The status of the two great stars could be described as extraordinary.
Naturally, two heavenly fruit positions were born in response to this—
The heavenly fruit position of the Lunar Star—the Moon Goddess—had already been claimed by the Goddess Wangshu. Thus, Xihe and Changxi were merely spirits of the Lunar Star, and could also be called the Lords of the Lunar Star.
They were by no means the Moon Goddess!
The fruit position of the Moon Goddess belonged solely to the fallen Goddess Wangshu, whose true spirit had returned to the sea of true spirits, awaiting her return in a boundless great tribulation.
Meanwhile, the heavenly fruit position of the Sun Star—the Sun God—
that is, the fruit position of the Sun Deity—
still remained!
At the same time,
there was no one more suited to this fruit position than Fuguang.
It was just that—
Fuguang's current strength and status were not yet worthy of the Sun God's fruit position.
Yet he was not anxious either—
Having virtue unworthy of one's position was a major taboo in the Primordial World!
Until the day he perished, he would forever remain the Innate Divine closest to the fruit position of the Sun God.
Therefore,
once he broke through to a higher realm—
it would still not be too late to consider attaining the fruit position of the Sun God.
Of course.
Even if Fuguang attained the fruit position of the Sun God, he still could not lower his guard—
For no other reason than that—
the Tribulation was truly terrifying!
Even the Moon Goddess Wangshu could perish in the Tribulation.
Naturally, the Sun God Fuguang could as well.
"I must not be arrogant, I must not be proud, I must not be careless."
After repeatedly admonishing himself in his heart,
Fuguang solidified his Dao heart even further—
He would prudently and cautiously keep a low profile, living as long as heaven and earth, and reigning as a companion to the world!
Upon this foundation, he would seek a Dao companion to soar together with him, living freely and unfettered.
Soon.
Having once more reaffirmed the desires in his heart, Fuguang arrived at the edge of the Chaos.
He glanced at the terrifying and perilous Chaos outside.
Fuguang felt no cowardice—
Not to mention that he possessed protective spiritual treasures, his very physical body as a Greater Golden Crow alone was enough to allow him to enter the Chaos.
Naturally,
even though his physical body could enter the Chaos, Fuguang had no intention of looking for trouble or suffering needlessly.
Hum—
He raised his hand and produced the upper-grade acquired merit spiritual treasure that radiated a golden light of merit: the Wujue inkstone. This was the same inkstone he usually used for grinding ink when writing books and painting, which possessed an inexhaustible and limitless supply.
The Wujue cast down immortal radiance.
Then, it effortlessly shielded Fuguang, allowing him to travel through the Chaos without obstruction.
It was worth mentioning that—
although spiritual treasures were divided into innate and acquired categories,
the might of certain acquired spiritual treasures far surpassed that of innate spiritual treasures.
The distinction between innate and acquired spiritual treasures
lay in only a single point—
whether the spiritual treasure contained innate spiritual light!
If it did,
it was an innate spiritual treasure!
If it did not,
it was an acquired spiritual treasure!
As for the might and efficacy of a spiritual treasure, it had no great bearing on whether it was innate or acquired!
The reason people felt acquired spiritual treasures were tasteless upon mention was that—
innate spiritual treasures had a baseline of power, and at worst possessed specific functions and considerable might.
Meanwhile, acquired ones could be terrifyingly powerful or embarrassingly weak.
Among acquired spiritual treasures, quite a few were famous,
for instance—
the Heaven and Earth Xuanhuang Pagoda, the God-Slaying seal, the Golden Dragon Scissors, and so on, all of which were renowned acquired spiritual treasures.
At this moment,
though the Wujue in Fuguang's hand was merely an acquired spiritual treasure, its defensive power was extremely formidable.
Once blessed with the golden light of merit, its defense approached that of top-tier defensive spiritual treasures.
Moreover,
despite appearing as nothing more than a small piece, the Wujue was exceptionally heavy.
Furthermore, it could grow large or shrink small, making it extremely handy for sneaking up behind someone to bash them over the head!
This item—
could be called one of Fuguang's essential magic treasures when going out.
He liked it immensely!
After driving the Wujue to protect himself, guided by the thought in his heart, Fuguang headed deeper into the Chaos.
...
The Primordial World kept no count of years, and the Chaos had even less passage of time.
Following the guidance within his heart, Fuguang traversed the Chaos.
"It should be here."
The ardent sensation in his heart grew increasingly intense, and Fuguang's eyes brightened.
Hum—
The next moment,
before his eyes, the perils of the Chaos were smoothed away by a mighty force, transforming into a place of serenity within the Chaos.
At the same time,
an ancient, heavy palace radiating the Dao rhyme of a Sage also appeared before Fuguang's eyes.
Zixiao Palace—
had arrived.
Upon seeing this palace,
Fuguang wore a smile.
Then,
he respectfully bowed toward the gates of Zixiao Palace:
"Many thanks to the Sage for the grace of guidance!"
To repeat an old saying—
courtesy costs nothing.
Regardless of whether the Sage cared or not, such behavior on his part would at least leave no bad impression.
And what if,
by some chance, this polite behavior brought him benefits?
In the Primordial World, there was always room for chance.
After all, as the saying went—
The Great Dao is fifty, the Heavenly Dao operates at forty-nine, leaving one escape!
This chance,
was the bit of extra destiny granted to all living beings.
