After the banquet, Shengxia and the Dragon King began discussing Penglai Immortal Island. Since the East Sea belonged to the Dragon Clan's territory, why had nothing been found there?
Shengxia decided to take his leave of the Dragon Clan and search for Penglai Immortal Island.
Emerging from the Dragon Palace, Shengxia used his divine Sage perception to scan the entire surface of the East Sea, but found nothing. He then used his divine powers to inspect the seabed, yet still came away empty-handed.
After traveling who knows how far, he discovered a location shielded by an Innate Grand Array within a deep ocean trench. Did Shengxia suspect this could be Penglai Island?
Parting the waters, he arrived before the grand array.
There, the array manifested earth, water, fire, and wind. Using his Sage power, Shengxia entered the first layer of the grand array, and the earth, water, fire, and wind energies were quickly smoothed away by him.
Shengxia entered the second layer of the array, only to see the major elements of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth transform into sharp swords that lunged at him. It was another Five Elements grand array, but this was still not enough to stump a Sage.
Shengxia simply pointed a finger forward, and all manner of energies shattered apart.
In the third layer, Heavenly Dao divine lightning fell like rain, guarded by Grand-Duty divine lightning. The final layer possessed immense power, threatening even the lives of Daluo semi-immortals.
This very last layer of the grand array could only be broken by cultivators at the Quasi-Sage level or above.
Entering the third layer, the Heavenly Dao divine lightning came to kill,
He reached out his hand to form a claw, treating the Heavenly Dao divine lightning like a beverage,
Then came the Grand-Duty lightning, which he grabbed and consumed as food,
Various energies came in turns, as if swearing to feed him to his fill.
What an extraordinary Innate Grand Array! Shengxia strolled leisurely through it, and when he added the powers of time and space, the array's might grew even more formidable, allowing entry to Sages alone.
Once Shengxia stepped out of the array, what should meet his eyes but cranes and spiritual deer roaming the mountains, three-colored radiance reflecting across the horizon, spiritual plants and immortal herbs everywhere, and innate spiritual Qi filling every ravine!
Truly, it was an exceptional place for cultivation.
Shengxia prepared to build his Sage Daoist sanctuary, and a Sage Daoist sanctuary naturally called for the finest materials.
The island possessed limitless resources: adamantine immortal stones piled high across the mountains, starlight divine stones scattered about for the taking, massive quantities of Nine-Heavens divine iron, and Fusang sacred trees to serve as building materials.
He would build it right by the lake gleaming with three-colored water. In the center of the lake stood a twenty-four-grade lotus platform, with green lotus leaves and jade-colored stems. There was a spring eye of the Three-Talent Divine Water, gushing forth streams as thick as a bowl at all times. The spiritual flora by the lake had lived for hundreds of millions of years, brimming with vitality as they transformed into living spirits.
Today the Sage Daoist sanctuary is built,
Adamantine immortal stones carved into bricks,
Nine-Heavens divine iron made into roof beams,
Fusang sacred trees whittled into tiles,
Starlight stones refined to pave the courtyard,
Behind the house he planted a Huangzhong Plum,
Before the doors he inserted Dream-Knowing Flowers.
The Dream-Knowing Flower was a floral fragrance that only a Sage could smell; a single bloom could intoxicate for a millennium, bringing enlightenment amidst a thousand years of meditation.
Shengxia then used his divine power to transform the creatures on the island into boy attendants, who helped plant the massive quantities of spiritual flora and treasures that Shengxia retrieved from his system space.
Ding! System check-in successful. Before him stood cyan immortal stones reflecting celestial shadows, vague figures of dancing immortals, paths lined with wondrous spiritual plants, tall trees casting cool green shade, and dazzling palace complexes concealing the mountain peaks!
Shengxia had put a great deal of thought into his immortal abode and was extremely satisfied.
Then he selected a giant starlight immortal stone and carved it into a stone tablet, inscribing upon it: "Penglai Sage Island." With a toss, it landed right beside the Innate Grand Array of Penglai Island!
