When Demon Emperor Dijun returned to the Heavenly Court with Xihe, the atmosphere was instantly ignited with festivity. The already colorful sky was now bathed in a magnificent glow, with countless dazzling rays of light intertwining to illuminate the entire Heavenly Court as brightly as day.
The auspicious clouds seemed to sense the fervent spirit, swirling joyfully and shifting into marvelous shapes. At times, they resembled enormous peonies, their layers of petals unfolding in lush, delicate beauty; at others, they took the form of majestic qilins, claws bared and jaws open, looking remarkably lifelike; and then, they transformed into ethereal phoenixes, wings spread as if about to take flight, their postures filled with grace. Each transformation drew exclamations of wonder from the gathered immortals.
The plaza of the Heavenly Court had been decorated to breathtaking effect. Enormous red lanterns hung high, their surfaces painted with vivid patterns of dragons and phoenixes bringing prosperity. The dragons wound and spiraled, their whiskers trembling in the breeze while their eyes gleamed with majesty. The phoenixes were posed elegantly, their tails colorful and vibrant, their feathers appearing to emit a soft, shimmering halo. As the breeze stirred, the lanterns swayed gently, emitting soft chimes as if whispering of the beautiful union between the bride and groom.
