[Verifying the authenticity of Li Sui's words.] [Verification complete: True.]
Li Sui was accustomed to visiting the teahouse every day. "Grandpa Fei, may I go to the teahouse?"
"You may."
Li Sui trotted off to the teahouse, brimming with excitement.
The teahouse was filled with the rich aroma of tea, its decor classical and understated. The owner recognized Li Sui at a glance; he was a regular. Without needing Li Sui to say a word, the owner led him straight to a private room. Afterward, the owner cleared away all the tea sets from the table, leaving Li Sui with a clean, empty surface.
Fei Qingsu looked on, anticipating Li Sui's next move.
Li Sui skillfully retrieved a set of paper and brushes from his storage ring. He ground the ink with patience before producing a piece of calligraphy written in a bold, sweeping hand.
Li Sui was completely engrossed in his writing, his entire being immersed in the task. Fei Qingsu stared at what he had written and raised an eyebrow."My overbearing Junior Sister has fallen in love with me. Junior Sister lifted my chin with her slender, fair fingers. Her voice was low and alluring as she whispered into my ear, 'Man, you’ve caught my attention.' My face flushed with shyness; I didn't know where to put my hands, and I dared not look into Junior Sister’s bewitching eyes.
Who would have thought that Junior Sister would lean closer and closer, her breath seeming to permeate my very body? Watching my flustered expression, she let out a soft laugh and said slowly, 'Your body is so tense—you’re so nervous. You must be deeply in love with me, aren't you?'"
Fei Qingsu rested her head in her hand. Is this really what he came here to write?
Fei Qingsu noticed the teahouse owner standing quietly outside the door. Without pushing it open, the owner silently walked away.
[Host, the male lead is approaching with a group of people.]
[I know.]
Feng Hanye clenched his fists. He walked with his head held high and chest puffed out, yet his footsteps made not a single sound.
His subordinates moved like ghosts as the group hurried toward this location.Feng Hanye said silently to himself: "The night is deep, Li Sui, your time has come."
Those who had been protecting Li Sui were gone—not physically vanished, but all of them had defected.
Any discerning person could see that this Li Sui was the most pathetic leader the Demon Sect had ever had. He refused to engage in any arson, looting, or evil deeds. He showed no concern for the interests of the Demon Sect and, instead, urged everyone to be civilized people and civilized cultivators.
It was too bizarre.
The former Demon Sect leader, Feng Hanye, was the one who truly made them feel at ease. Killing was, after all, what they excelled at most.
So, when Feng Hanye announced his return, everyone prayed for Li Sui’s death, ready to welcome a new Demon Sect leader.
Looking at the vast, swarming crowd behind him, Feng Hanye felt an indescribable sense of pride.
*Li Sui, can you escape this?*
Tonight was not a matter of nine deaths and one life—it was ten deaths and zero chances of survival.
"Grandpa Fei, they must be here by now. After I’m dead, my body will inevitably be searched. I had better throw you out the window."
Li Sui certainly understood the power Grandpa Fei possessed, but he had also read plenty of novels. In those stories, elders needed vast amounts of materials to restore their strength, and there were often severe restrictions on their actions—in the worst cases, acting could even cost them their chance at reincarnation.
He hadn't provided Grandpa Fei with a single material. Could the old man really stop Feng Hanye, who was on the verge of the Deity Transformation Stage, along with countless Golden Core Stage cultivators, in a single strike?
Even if he could, it would undoubtedly take a massive toll on his being. That the old man had managed to cultivate to the Human Immortal stage proved he was a person of peerless talent and unwavering resolve.
For someone so powerful to have been ambushed by a formidable enemy and reduced to an Artifact Spirit was already an insult enough.
How could Li Sui allow the old man to lose his chance at returning to his peak just for his own sake?
Those who cultivated the immortal path should, above all, possess virtue.
Li Sui had always held fast to his bottom line.[Host, this man has an excellent disposition. If not for the constraints of the plot, he could truly have been the protagonist.]
"Little friend, have no fear. I am here."
At the same moment, Feng Hanye shattered the gate with his longsword, and a crowd of people swarmed in behind him.
Fei Qingsu forcibly restrained Li Sui, who was reaching for the storage ring. Li Sui let out a sigh.
Feng Hanye narrowed his eyes, radiating a dangerous aura. "Li Sui, how does it feel to snatch away the position of Demon Sect leader from me?"
Li Sui shook his head honestly. "It doesn't feel good."
It wasn't as if he had done it on purpose. He had simply opened his eyes to find himself sitting in the other man’s seat; it was a truly fabricated charge.
Feng Hanye caught the scent of Li Sui's soul—a disgustingly pure scent, a sense of purity he had never encountered in anyone else. He would never have imagined that such a person could become the leader of the Demon Sect. Rumors within the sect claimed it was the will of the heavens. The heavens would choose a soul so pure to become the Demon Sect leader, a figure reviled by all the righteous paths? What a joke.
"Are you enjoying the seat of the Demon Sect leader? Enjoying the feeling of looking down on others, trampling all living things beneath your feet?"
"It is not comfortable. All living things are equal; everything in this world is equal."
Feng Hanye felt as though he had struck Li Sui with a fist made of cotton—it lacked lethality, yet it still left him feeling deeply irritated.
"All living things are equal? How laughable. You can crush countless ants with a single step; are you equal to the ants?"
"In the mortal realm, as ants dig their nests, they loosen the soil, increasing its aeration and water retention, which helps mortals grow crops. Ants and humans each have their own unique functions; in that regard, they are equal."
"Sharp-tongued! Let's see what kind of words you can utter after you are dead!"
A cold sneer tugged at the corners of Feng Hanye’s mouth. A glint of cruelty flashed in his eyes, and he waved his hand without a second’s hesitation. At his signal, the followers behind him lunged at Li Sui like starving wolves, their blades flashing with cold light as they hacked down without mercy.
They held no hesitation, nor any sense of chivalry; their sole objective was to put Li Sui to death.
Feng Hanye himself gripped a razor-sharp longsword, its blade shimmering with a chilling radiance. He locked his gaze on Li Sui and suddenly swung his arm, delivering a savage strike. The sword blow carried a fierce aura and a terrifying pressure, as if it intended to tear the very space asunder. Meanwhile, the others drew their own life-bound weapons, their eyes filled with killing intent.
In an instant, blades crossed and the wind howled.
"Grandpa Fei, goodbye."
"Close your eyes."
The two said simultaneously.
Li Sui’s body shifted slightly. When he opened his eyes again, the cheat had taken possession.
Li Sui was now Fei Qingsu!
Facing the fierce onslaught, Fei Qingsu looked up. He extended his right hand and tapped lightly in the air. In an instant, the bodies of every attacker were swept up as if by a gale. Their weapons were knocked from their grips, and then, the wind forcefully shoved them all backward.
The weapons emitted a series of snapping sounds as they were all shattered. When the crowd hit the ground, the breathing of almost everyone had ceased entirely, leaving only Feng Hanye standing.
[Plot Deviation Value is at ninety percent.] [Female protagonist halo effect weakened to four percent.] [Hero Aura effect weakened to twenty percent.]
"Who... who exactly are you?!"
Fei Qingsu answered calmly, "Your father."
A brilliant cyan longsword appeared out of thin air in front of Fei Qingsu. It was Li Sui’s life-bound Dharma Treasure, but under Fei Qingsu’s control, it possessed an unprecedented momentum.
The longsword streaked directly toward Feng Hanye’s dantian.
