Members of the Tongchen Club had participated in several of the previous productions spearheaded by Li Youzhi. While nominally designated as club activities, the actual grunt work they performed was identical to the jobs done at Guanghe Culture.
Although the school’s official stance was that no remuneration needed to be paid and students joining a film crew should view it as a learning and self-improvement opportunity, Li Youzhi always set aside a portion of the funds and deposited them into the Tongchen Club’s operating budget. Consequently, the financial affluence of the Tongchen Club currently rivaled that of the Agricultural University's finance department.
