952 words5 minutes read

In that endless darkness that seemed capable of devouring everything, the sound of Lin Chen and his companions' heartbeats was as rapid as drumbeats, clearly audible. Fear crawled silently into their hearts like a cold viper, its icy chill seeping deep into their bones. Yet their willpower remained as steadfast as iron, without the slightest wavering—that was the burning dedication to justice and the longing for victory within their hearts. Lin Chen took a deep breath, striving to calm his rapidly pounding heart. He slowly closed his eyes, shutting out the creepy interference from the surrounding darkness, and used his mind to sense the subtle shifts in the airflow around them. Suddenly, he acutely sensed a faint but continuous breeze blowing gently from the left. The wind seemed to carry a hint of a familiar, elusive presence, as if fate had cast a ray of dawn for them in this desperate plight.
