The summit of Lingfeng Mountain presented a horrific sight in the aftermath of the battle. Shattered structures lay in ruins, broken stone pillars sprawled across the ground, and rubble piled up like mountains. The smoke of battle had not yet fully dissipated, and the air was thick with a suffocating stench of blood and gunpowder. Lin Chen and his companions sat collapsed on the ground, as if drained of all their strength. Though utterly exhausted, a growing sense of relief washed over their hearts.
The wounded companions lay or leaned against the ground, blood gushing from their injuries to stain their garments red. Their faces were as pale as paper, brows furrowed tightly, and every breath was accompanied by painful groans. Yet, a victorious gleam flickered in their eyes—a pride and satisfaction born from upholding justice after surviving a trial of life and death.
Burning with anxiety and ignoring his own numerous wounds, Lin Chen quickly stood up and began organizing the uninjured companions to provide emergency treatment to the wounded. His bloodshot eyes revealed determination and concern as his hands moved skillfully and rapidly, continuously pulling various precious pills and herbs from his storage bag.
