The Buddha says: A finger-snap is a lifetime, a lifetime is an instant, and an instant contains ninety-nine lives and ninety-nine deaths.
In that single strike just now, hundreds of billions—perhaps even several times that number—of lives perished, yet elsewhere people were still being born, destruction giving way to new birth.
Yet in such brutal realms as the Immortal Realm and the Demon Realm, the weak possess no right to resist; they have only the fate of being chosen.
