Aran cleared out her large bedroom and moved her belongings into Bao'er's former room. Because Wang Jufen had brought two children with her when she married Father Gu, Father Gu had converted one of the larger rooms into two smaller ones. Aran efficiently tidied up the three rooms, replaced the bed sheets and quilt covers in Chu Hengyuan's room with clean ones, and then went to the main hall. When Leng Er saw Aran arrive, he briefly explained the treatment plan for Father Gu’s legs. He noted that while the legs could be cured, the process would be excruciatingly painful, especially once the anesthetic wore off. If Father Gu could endure the suffering, he would be able to walk within a month—though only for walking; it would take half a year before he could exert force like a normal person, as the bones had been too severely shattered to support much weight at first.
