The rain fell in a patter, fine as silk, driven askew by the wind. Fine threads of rain were still visible beneath the streetlamps, but the downpour had eased significantly, much better than the torrential rain just moments ago. At least it was not annoying to have it fall upon you; even without an umbrella, one could walk out now. Large drops of rain fell from between the leaves, landing on the lawn and kicking up tiny splashes. Two butterflies danced gracefully through the woods, seemingly grateful for this midsummer cold rain. Dewdrops hung between the blades of grass, and birds sheltering from the rain chirped softly in the trees. The night grew deeper; dark clouds filled the sky, obscuring the bright moon and starlight, and where the moon hung, only a patch of white, hazy light could be seen. Clouds drifted across the grey sky, and the night sky was not black, but rather leaned toward a reddish-brown hue.
