Wuhu is home to a wild, fine-scaled whitefish with an exceptionally delicious flavor. Wu Hua had tasted it a few times while working at Wuhu Station, and the exquisite taste had been unforgettable.
Back then, due to severe pollution, this fish had become nearly extinct and extremely rare. Today, however, in the eyes of the locals, it was quite common—too ordinary for large restaurants to bother serving, yet found everywhere in small eateries.
