Her eyes flickered with instant panic, and she reflexively tried to look away. However, the moment her gaze wandered, a scar on Lu Xiuyun’s left shoulder caught her eye, holding her stare so firmly that she froze. The scar was hideous—like a twisted centipede crawling wantonly across his otherwise well-toned skin. It was an exceptionally long incision, winding down from his shoulder and spanning nearly half of it. Its width was equally startling, looking as though the skin had been torn open by hand and then hastily stitched back together, the crude edges still visible. The skin, which should have been smooth, was now uneven; the new tissue stood in stark contrast to the surrounding area, its dark, purplish hue shocking to behold.
