Hector and his friends spent a thoroughly delightful time in Hagrid's hut. Hagrid had thoughtfully prepared an abundance of food for them. While it could hardly be called gourmet, the noticeably softened Rock Cakes showed that the half-giant had put a tremendous amount of effort into the meal—though his tea would have been much better had it been a bit weaker. The atmosphere inside the hut was exceptionally cozy, filled with the warmth of a blazing fire in the hearth. Everyone sat in a circle, chatting idly. Broad smiles never left the young wizards' faces, and Hagrid was certainly no exception. This joyful atmosphere reached its peak when Harry arrived after Quidditch practice. True to form, Hagrid welcomed Harry just as warmly as he had Hector and the rest, offering him freshly baked food that was still steaming. Harry must have been absolutely starving; he ate two weasel sandwiches—something he usually only tasted out of politeness—and didn't let a single one of the softened Rock Cakes go to waste. Watching him devour the food with such gusto, Hagrid's smile grew even wider.
