That day arrived quickly. When Hector woke up early in the morning, he smelled the sweet and enticing scent of roasted pumpkin drifting through the corridors. Halloween had arrived, Hector thought. In truth, Hector still found it rather baffling that wizards celebrated Halloween. Logically speaking, the magical world's faith should belong to Merlin rather than God. After all, when expressing their astonishment, they always exclaimed things like "Merlin's beard!" rather than invoking God. Yet here they were, still observing such a quintessential religious holiday. It seemed even Merlin had to adapt to local customs.
