Hector and the others watched as two figures—one tall, one short—appeared about ten paces away. The taller one was naturally Professor McGonagall, and the shorter one was none other than the golden-haired Malfoy. They stopped at the top of the stairs, with Malfoy leading the way. Professor McGonagall followed behind, carrying a lamp, wearing plaid pajamas, and her hair loose.
"Are you certain, Malfoy? Up ahead is the highest tower in Hogwarts, and I haven't seen a single trace of anyone so far."
"There's no way I'm wrong, Professor McGonagall. Potter is definitely here, and he even has a dragon with him—I'm certain he's close by. Dumbledore is probably with him too, and Weasley."
