Hector and Dumbledore's figures appeared on a mountain peak. He looked around; not far away lay the azure-blue sea. The scene before him filled Hector with an inexplicable sense of familiarity, and he stood on tiptoe, straining to gaze into the distance. He had to admit the weather today was quite fine—the sun was bright, the sky cloudless, and the sea lacked the thin, usual morning mist, leaving the view remarkably wide. Hector looked toward the distant reaches of the sea, where a vague, brownish line hovered at the edge of his vision. That must be France, Hector thought, and the baseless sense of familiarity deep within his heart surfaced once more; he always felt as though he had been to this place before. Suddenly, fragments flickered in Hector's mind like paper scraps swept from a corner. These fragments seemed to glow, and Hector could feel their numbers growing—first as individual points of light, then those points combined to form something resembling a scroll. The tiny figure of Hector within his mind looked toward that scroll, where a small figure appeared. He strained to recognize it, hoping for some clue. Before long, as the scroll gradually filled out, Hector saw the face of that small figure clearly—it was Hector himself. That wasn't right. Logically speaking, when Hector—or rather, Li Buyan—had first arrived in this world, he had rigorously reviewed the memories in his mind.
