Aurora had received Hector's summons; beating her wings, she successfully broke through the outer spatial barrier and into Nicolas Flamel's safehouse. Hector's trump card had indeed worked—Nicolas Flamel certainly did not look like someone who had been caught unprepared. Yet this did not mean Hector's plan had succeeded. Nicolas Flamel had known of the phoenix's existence from the very beginning; having interacted with the Dumbledore family for so long, he naturally knew that a phoenix would appear whenever a member of the Dumbledore family was in need of help. Knowing this fact, there was no reason whatsoever for Nicolas Flamel not to take corresponding countermeasures against the phoenix's spatial teleportation abilities, and in fact, he had done just that. This was why Aurora, carrying Hector, had failed to escape the trap Nicolas Flamel had set.
Nicolas Flamel had prepared for this day for far too long. From the moment he learned of his identity as a so-called Pathfinder, he had remained vigilant against everything around him.
