Perhaps to retaliate against Hector for his nonsense the previous night, Dumbledore pulled Hector straight out of the hotel's soft bed while it was still pitch dark.
"Is there any need to be this early?"
Hector looked dazed. Rubbing his slightly swollen eyes and going barefoot, he followed Dumbledore's urging and shuffled toward the washbasin by instinct. Soon, the disadvantages of not wearing shoes manifested themselves vividly—with his eyes not fully open, Hector accidentally stubbed his bare toe hard against the edge of the bed.
